Be nice if they opened up more land to hunt. Also be nice if in certain areas they extended the season. I’m in 9A and there is essentially no public hunting land and tons of deer. They hand out roughly 20,000 doe tags and I think 5-10% get filled. That’s a problem they need to address. Deer get killed by cars all the time. Bow hunting in parks should be allowed as well as gun in a few parks where it’s safe.
No lack of puplic land upstate and I think it's high time to put the brakes on doe tags . I'd gamble most people do not report their kills . Everyone I talk to here in cny have the same story,,, the least deer sightings in a very long time.
Everyone should read the plan. There will most likely be things in it that most here disagree with, like the extended season is for bow/muzzleloader not rifle/shotgun. From what I have heard many of the State wildlife biologists are not happy with the plan.
It is 80 pages long so make plans to read it if you are going to.
is he a actual hunter .. or just a publicity hunter .. CWD .. you can't stop deer from swaping spit ,, dumping a 5 gal pail of apples is bating but a planting a apple tree is not ..
Schmitt said some of these guidelines are very hunter friendly, such as the change of age limit for big game hunting from 14 to 12
why not 5 yr olds like other states .. or no age limit and let the hunting parents decide .. that's age discrimination Schmitt ..
