We need better background checks, and no more non FFL private sale gun purchases nation wide. If we keep having kids and innocent people getting slaughtered then the laws in this nation will change so drastically that NY will look like a gun friendly state. Wake the hell up, America is pissed over these mass shootings. People will vote for the leadership that's willing to do something about it. Every mass shooting sinks gun owners further into the crap hole. Polls show that we are in trouble as gun owners. A shooting similar to the horror show we had in Newtown will make Americans go to the polls for gun reform candidates like you've never seen before.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but I think you maybe overly optimistic about the gun issue. I think the indoctrinated millennial is completely ambivalent to the issue. Personally, Im hoping the millennial is so apathetic they simply stay home in 2020. Most people, in my opinion, are more worried about their jobs and healthcare than guns.
what Law abiding gun owners need to do is keep bring Chicago, Baltimore and St Lewis into the spot light. Statistically speaking, Your safer in Afghanistan than Chicago.

Many of these shooters if not most of them seem to be able to pass a background check ... Some say if one lies on the form then an arrest should be made ... What happens if a false hit is made ... Many folks have been mixed up with another name and have been denied the sale ... Going to cuff them also.?
In New York State the answer to that question is now yes.
Now in NYS if someone gets a delay that doesn't come back then they have to wait 30 business days(the key being business days). We can no longer transfer after the 3 business days. NICs are only good for 30 calendar days. While they might not need to be reported for being delayed they are pretty much denied the purchase.
Any denied NICs check made is supposed to be reported anyway regardless of NYS as the person lying on the 4473 is committing a felony. Proceeds are removed from the system after the check is cleared. Denied checks stay in the system forever and when you local BATF guy comes to audit your books they are going to ask about he denies and what you did to follow up on them.

I think everyone agrees with your sediments on the mass shootings. But It wont do anything to stop mass shootings , and when it fails, they will lament over more tougher gun laws . Adam Lanza wasn't even old enough to legally purchase a weapon , yet he obtained one, and allegedly killed 27 people . background checks would have done nothing to stop him Steven Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter, had no mental health conditions was a retired government worker and a very successful video poker player ( if you believe the official story)

Well, I believe a cop should be able to search anybody, anywhere as long as they "think" the person is up to no good, no probable cause or reasonable suspicion needed.
They should be able to pull over anyone, for any reason, even if that reason is because the driver is black...or looks gay.
Ask any cop, these ideas I have would absolutely save lives and stop crimes.
