as @GOPerfect pointed out they flat out don't care. It's irrelevant.

They are seizing an opportunity to further restrict our rights. Period.


The terrorist could have mowed people down with an M-60 and it wouldn't surprise me to hear politicians use it as an opportunity to ban pistols.

It makes no sense and it doesn't matter.

It's just an opportunity to take more away from us and limit what we can legally own which makes them enacting their agenda easier.


Politicians will use phrases like "reasonable, common sense" and appeal to non gun owners and fudds who either are ignorant or don't care. They'll listen to what CNN says that it's a good idea. They'll listen to schumer stare into a camera and say "were not coming for your guns we respect your right to hunt but we need to get these violent weapons of mass slaughter off the streets" and karen Soccer mom will think sounds reasonable enough to me.
