Scope for a 10/22??

Tasco air gun scope. No joke. Why? Springer rated, great turrets, and the parallax goes down to 7 yards.


I have 2 on air rifles thag dish out way more punishment than 10/22 could ever dream of.

Did look at one from Primary Arms.
Its apparently made for the Ruger 10/22....whatever that means.
The reviews say the mounts that come with it are good and mount easily on a 10/22.
Many of the 22 scope reviews say to buy new Weaver mounts because most mounts sold with 22 scopes wont mount to 10/22 rail.
That is maybe why they say its specifically for a 10/22.
The scope is $119 and the reviews are 5 out of 5 with 900 reviews.....seems like a good choice but a bit much $$$ for a backyard plinker.

One piece instead of three (rail and two separate rings).

Yeah, this stuff is expensive but I'd rather use iron sights than a cheap scope and mount.

DNZ MOUNTS are the only thing i use anymore!
$30-50, idiot proof and solid. It removes a layer of failure!

I’ve got a Bushnell Banner in my dead scope collection as well.

Actually, I probably have almost a dozen old scopes that fit into this category. I’d love to donate them to a good home. I just have to get of my ass and be organized.

I looked around at some reviews online and this one scope keeps popping up.
Its far less expensive than any others on the lists.....the next cheapest is around the $110 range.
Several places have said this is good for the money and easy to use.
I will never really use it for more than chipmunks and short range plinking.
But im gonna check out the one you guys suggested too.
$150 isnt too much but I probably dont need the added features.....$46 might be ok.
Ill keep looking around.

Ha, I have that exact scope. Works well enough for a budget scope, holds it's zero, but pretty much anything does on a .22lr.

I have no complaints with it over the 6ish years I've had it.

Of course it's not as anywhere near as good as a more expensive scope, but you get your money's worth for $40.

Thanks, im just looking to clean up some chipmunks and yard plinking.
I hate doing it but over the last few years the munks have caused a lot of damage. Our patio behind our garage began cracking so I dug it up. There were chipmunk holes everywhere. So many that it caused the concrete to crack. They also have chewed holes into our garage and house.
We have 2 useless cats....1 is 11 years old, the other in her low 20s....past their "mousing" days.
Ive tried live traps, kill traps.....nothing works. There are times you can see 20 plus munks running around at once. Ive never heard of such a thing. I bought a pellet gun but its too inconsistent. Soooo, the 10/22 it is. Its plenty good with iron sights, ive killed 14 chipmunks this Spring but I dont even see difference. Ive never really used a scope sinse the Army and there it was limited. So what better way to improve my scope skills.

I don’t think there are laws against baiting chipmunks.

Keep parallax in mind when you’re choosing scopes. This is especially important, if your going to be engaging targets at less than 30 yards.

I agree no laws against shooting chipmunks that I know of. They are troublesome and don’t feel bad about reducing the numbers.

They’re not protected. They’re just considered poor sport. They are strictly varmints.

I was wondering, if he would make a feeder for them. That would limit his field of fire and make it safer to shoot in the backyard.

not that i know of either .. but i bet you better have a hunting license .. just because there is no law shooting them .. like there is no wood chuck season ,.. you need a hunting license i do believe ..

would fall under "Taking wildlife with out a license" i do believe

Did you ever get organized?

I have a Savage MKII I'm going to sight in for 100-yard shooting, and the old scope I had lying around won't hold true.
Was going to go look for another BSA 22-sweet as I have had a great experience with the one on my competition gun (don't want to swap it over and mess things up, though).

It says you dont need a license or a permit if chipmunks are a nuisance or causing property damage.

You dont need a license or a permit to kill woodchucks if they are a nuisance or if they are damaging property.

Almost the same as coyote. Coyote if they are nuisance you need a permit but if they are causing damage to property such as killing your livestock, no permit or license needed to kill.

10/22 . . . I'm using a Bushnell First Strike red dot. Came in very handy in Northern chaut County when I lived there. Few rodents and lots of live fire red dot training . . .
