SCOPE REPAIRS

I bought an older vintage Weatherby 2 1/2 X 10 power scope for a new rifle purchace and the adjustment for the power range and the adjustment for windage & elevation are froze up. I can't budge them.

Where is a decent scope repair shop that I can send it in for repairs?

The gun I put it on is a Ruger 77/357 magnum, What a fun shooting rifle.

nobody fixes scopes. They replace them.
Nothing to loose to call weatherby but they have been out of the optics business for a long time..

Does Weatherby still make rifle scopes? If not, what scope do they recommend?
Weatherby no longer manufactures rifle scopes, or other optic products, nor do we promote any particular brand. We do recommend, due to the amount of recoil sometimes experienced with the larger magnum rifles, that you choose a well-made, high quality scope.

Apply a drop (I mean drop) of penetrating oil like Kroil, etc, then try hitting them with a hair dryer for a while, all the while trying to gently getting them to click in either direction. Take your time, they will break free. Scope mechanics are expensive and waits are often 6 to 9 months. I used to fix them as a side business , but the absence of spare parts made me stop. I just replace crosshairs on older scopes like Unertls, Lyman's, Feckers, etc.. Also I sell crosshair wire for DIY'ers.

Unless it was going on a vintage piece which I'm assuming it was, I'd stay away from vintage scopes in general. Depending the age it may not be vacuum sealed if that's the case you should be able to recondition it yourself if the glass is still good. If the turrets a siezed as posted above use a penetrating solvent. You may find an old timer at the company who is familiar with the scope give them a call they may be able to help you out.
