Since large faction of pro- gun side came out against bump-stocks, including the NRA, it will be easy for SCOTUS to rule against them. This is why they took this case. This is no good, bad precedent will be established.
They don't even want to uphold normal capacity magazines, no way they will uphold bump stocks.

I think the only way they will rule in "our" favor is how it went down... which then the "trump is playing string theory chess" group will jump around reeeeeing "told you so"

I don't see this getting around "one round per finger pull" , that's easier to decipher than "shall not be infringed." If it does, we're fucked.

Yeah I mean when you think about a Justice, they are highly educated, often from decent and rural upbringings, reside around DC. In general not the kind of people you’d come to associate with defending gun rights.
People like Clarence Thomas are a rare gem in those circles

SCOTUS is a big theater for the masses, where justices play their roles. There isn't a dime worth of difference between them. It doesn't matter who sits there. They will always pretend to be a divided court.
