But with that being said, if you want to try and look at silver linings Kavanaugh's concurrence that he wrote shows he may be one to want to hear more 2A cases.
Hopefully pick up one with some actual teeth in it vs this one that the state was so quick to change a law for..
Say idk the 9th circuit has some going on, and maybe a few over here in the 2nd circuit.

Gorsuch, Thomas and Alito also made it clear in their dissent.
Thomas has been wanting 2A cases for years now.
“If a lower court treated another right so cavalierly,” Thomas wrote in his dissent, “I have little doubt that this Court would intervene. But as evidenced by our continued inaction in this area, the Second Amendment is a disfavored right in this Court.”
According to Thomas, "the Framers made a clear choice: They reserved to all Americans the right to bear arms for self-defense. I do not think we should stand by idly while a State denies its citizens that right, particularly when their very lives may depend on it." Thomas added, "even if other Members of the Court do not agree that the Second Amendment likely protects a right to public carry, the time has come for the Court to answer this important question definitively."
Downside is that equals only 4 votes in favor of the 2A (kinda) and 4 that will deff vote against the 2A and that just leaves Roberts as the swing vote which more than likely he will vote against the 2A...
Only one true option, RBG retires or.... well passes in the next few years. (And honestly I can weirdly see her living until 2025)

My fear is he gets us to 4 not 5. Also who knows when or if those other cases will get heard. If they cave then that case too will be settled to keep it out of the SC. That’s what happened here. Then those rulings will only be regional in the USA and we won’t be helped again.

As it stands right now a fair assessment the court would be split 4 and 4 on 2A cases leaving Robert's as the which way will he lean. And I believe he would be a tough bet but winnable for say something like Californias ammo purchasing law going through the courts right now giving the 5 to 4 win, but if an "assault weapons ban" or magazi capacity case was to come up in the court it he would swing left for a 4 to 5 loss

As I read this entire decision, it became clear to me:
1. We are fucked YET again, and
2. Roberts is clearly a problem. Roberts fucked us with his decision on Obamacare. He fucked us with the census question. And probably others I am not thinking about right at the moment. And now he has fucked us on this case as well.
I am convinced that Roberts has been blackmailed by those on the left, - most likely for he and his wife's illegal private adoption of their kids from (an unspecified Latin American country), when it is obvious that those kids are as Irish as Paddy's pig.
Robert's problem is that it is illegal for non citizens of Ireland to adopt Irish children, and PRIVATE adoptions are ILLEGAL in Ireland as well.
Obviously, the libs got the goods on the Robert's children adoptions, and are holding it over his head. He belongs in prison instead of sitting on SCOTUS as Chief Justice. She should have gone to prison as well.
If the American Mainstream press weren't in the direct employ of the libs and the Democrat party, someone out there would have investigated it already. Hell, it should be easy to to get some body fluids from a couple of 20 year old kids (young adults, actually), which should show their genetic background. And that should get the criminal investigation started to throw his ass in prison.

Can't say I'm shocked. Alitos dissent is well worth the time to read.
Read the rebuttal from Gorsuch, et al. Pretty scathing. Hopefully this was because of the legalities of mootness and not the merits of the case. There are a few more pending which are probably stronger anyway.
