Only thing that will get the fudds on our side is when they start losing their guns to. I say bring it on, maybe if they sided with us years ago we wouldn't be in this shape.

I do not think that the Liberal Progressives are dumb or ignorant. I know that they are devious and Machiavellian in their political goals.
Their goal is to ban all firearms. No, they generally will not say that outright, but we all know that it is true since the only magazine capacity that will absolutely prevent a "gun crime" is zero rounds.
To that end, I think that this is their long term, stepwise, strategy:
1. Introduce the term "assault weapon" into the American common vernacular so that an uneducated electorate equates these politically defined firearms as being equivalent to machine guns, automatic weapons, assault rifles, and weapons of war. [GOAL ACCOMPLISHED]
2. Elevate "military style" firearms as being equivalent to actual military weaponry based on cosmetic appearances. [GOAL ACCOMPLISHED]
3. Use the Liberal-aligned mainstream media to cause people to fear being killed in isolated "mass shootings" while downplaying, or outright ignoring, massive violence and death that routinely occurs in Democrat-run cities with strict gun control regulations. [GOAL ACCOMPLISHED]
4. Insist on "common sense" gun control regulations while knowing that past statistics do not support the regulations. [Currently in progress]
5. As a first common sense step, ban only military-style, semiautomatic, rifles deemed to be assault weapons. [To be done with the full knowledge that very few people are killed each year by all rifles, let alone "assault weapon" rifles.]
6. In time, show the public that despite the ban in step #5, "gun violence" levels have not changed. So, now ban all magazine-fed rifles, semiautomatic shotguns, and pump-action shotguns. After all, "the people" will still have access to break action shotguns and non-magazine based bolt-action rifles.
7. Over more time, show the public that "gun violence" levels have still not changed much. Now, ban all semiautomatic handguns. [THIS is the true goal. But, doing so first might not allow banning of rifles if "gun violence" levels actually decreased.] Contend that banning semiautomatic firearms is constitutional because in keeping with the intent of the 2nd amendment, "the people" still have access to revolvers.
8. When "gun violence" rates in the cities do not decline after disarming law-abiding citizens, because criminals do not follow laws, insist that there must still be too many firearms available to civilians. Therefore, mandatory "buy-backs" will be instituted for all non-banned firearms.
9. Since criminals will not follow the laws, gun violence rates in the cities will not change. Therefore, insist that law enforcement must now go door-to-door and confiscate all illegal firearms in The United States. Under the next Democrat Liberal Progressive president, train a federal police force (i.e. non-military so as to avoid posse comitatus conflict and criticism) that will carry out the confiscations.
I hope that I am wrong and simply expressing a fictional scenario. But, I am losing faith in a government that is hell bent on depriving law-abiding citizens of their rights to own defensive firearms because of what criminals might do with the same tools.

I personally feel now more than ever we all need to stick together in the group of Gun Owners. Once one type it taken it opens the door for others.
the right to have guns is the main objective whether a hunting rifle or a ar-15...personally I see an ar-15 to be a good Pig hunting gun so whether you hunt, shoot steel, compete, just want protection. We must support the 2nd amendment as a whole and focus our attention on NO compromise.......or no restriction on law abiding citizen PERIOD. I hunt too but I also love to plink..and carry for protection...GOD forbid I ever need to use it but I want the right that my opinion was GOD GIVEN TO ME to be in place.
So to me doesnt matter what it is... I want the right protected....Im not gonna sit on a pedestal and say this or that gun not needed dont see the purpose of it cuz I only do x or y. its part of the blanket right for you to have it. PERIOD.

Ive got hunting rifles, shotguns and handguns.
Ive never owned a "black rifle", ive never wanted one and will most likely never own one.
I hunt to put food on the table and carry a handgun....a wheelgun at that.....to protect my family.
Where we differ is that I will stand shoulder to shoulder with my black rifle loving fellow gun owners untill the bitter end.
I will continue giving money to organizations fighting against "assault rifle" bans, I will continue voicing my opinions to politicians and I will continue believing that "not one more inch" is the only way to protect YOUR rights.

I am a member of 3 local gun clubs/ranges where black rifles are very well loved.
Ive never even stepped foot on one of the ranges property. The other 2 ive never shot a round at.
Im a member simply to pay my dues and monetarily support many of their fundraisers.
Due to many of the members of these clubs and their outspoken advocacy, our county is oneof the most pro 2a counties in NYS.
