Yeah 10 rounds to stop the threat... (I bet it was the

one to the "central nervous system"

as they say that did it).

But what about situational awareness? Sitting in a parking lot catching up on texts and emails at 2 am ... bet his training covered that too but he didn't follow it. I think most of us are guilty of that too btw.

Timing/response how quickly distance can get closed in.

Glad he and his girlfriend were not harmed (or charged). Good result all around.

Well, they did notice and react to the threat while it was still a reasonable distance away.

Situational awareness means you know what's going on around you, not that you don't check your messages in public.

You can't be at defcon 1 everytime anyone is within 20 yards of you.
