Semiauto Shotgun Suggestions

Application- getting into upland hunting but also looking for general versatility.

Am looking at the CZ 712 / 720.

Any suggestions? Would like to stay under $1000. I would lean toward a 20 gauge but open to a 12.

I used to do it with a .177 Benjamin air rifle... highly effective too given a head shot.

In that order.. an M2 might run you 1200, same on a VM. The berreta should be right around a grand and a used M1 around 800.

All very good guns with great reliability.

Personally I have an M2, but I want a Vm too at some point.

Love my Beretta extrema 2. Will shoot the lightest target loads to the heavy 3 1/2 goose loads. Have had zero malfunctions

$1000 Max. I *am* on a budget, just not sure what a decent semi will go for as I understand they can be finicky and a crap gun that wont run is just a waste of money anyway... FiL and I are thinking about cashing in some of my inheritance (read: long guns he has neither of us use) to fund an O/U for him and a semi for me.

I run an 1187 in 20 guage. It's a great gun and never failed me. I'm in a family of FUDDs therefore I'm surrounded by shotguns. So I've shot just about every main manufacturers version. So heres my suggestion and its outside of you budget but you can't beat a benelli.

Welp, 1000 max means berreta 1301, or used benelli m2, m1 or a used vm. Check in the equipment exchange on ar15.com

I can tell you I love the feel of the Benelli Montfelteo. I’m going to buy one someday for the same purpose. Light and fast. 20 gauge is about $1,000.

This review mentioned the changeable O rings. The current model doesn't require changing for lighter loads.

The current model comes fully assembled. Prior models were two pieces.

This is very inexpensive but has great reviews. Takes a lickin but keeps on tickin.

Available in 20 and 12 guage.

I have the 12 guage, very happy with it.
