well, good luck to you guys. You pretty much don't stand a chance. I understand you want to "stand and fight", I think the "safe act" is a good example of the chances you have. Eight years later, we are still stuck with the abomination.

Im following a few other that have left the state. My best friend, that I have known since I was 10, went to Tennessee two weeks ago, bought a house, closed last week and started moving Saturday and yesterday. He's getting his electric turned on today, then going down to get his DL, and will be back in NY by Wednesday. Packing more crap, and he has a TON of crap, LOL.

He sold his house in Palmyra in 48 hours and got $22K more than the the asking price. I'll be out of New Yorkistan by November. we were shooting for October, but it looks like it maybe late Oct early Nov.

so how much extra tax is he paying to New York State since he isn't buying a new house in the State?
Isn't there some kind of "escape tax" they put on the sale of houses?
