How would this work for handgun purchases? We already have to wait for amendments to come back and they usually take at least 7-10 days , in my county anyways. So I wait a week or 2 after I purchase a handgun, and then I have to wait another 10 days to actually take possession after the NICS check??? Do they not know that handgun purchases are already delayed already until some judge grants me permission to exercise a friggin right? What a bunch of fucking retards

There are counties that do same day amendments, mine let me keep a coupon with me. I could go buy a gun and just walk out with it.

Yes, my county sometimes accommodates same day amendments if you drive there and the judge isn’t in court. But I usually mail them in because I’m not taking time off from work during the week, (another fucking flaming hoop to jump through for a god given right) , to run to the clerks office. I was just speaking generally. I know there are some counties where the wait is measured from weeks to months. Just wondering if that time is being counted as a “10 day waiting period”? Not sure what this stupid fucking law is meant to accomplish anyhow.

So, they start small…10 days, most dumb NYers go, “oh it’s only 10 days, that’s not bad”.
Next legislation it’s 30, then it’s 60…pretty soon you get one gun a year if you are lucky.

Only delay in adding a handgun to a Licenses up here (Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Lewis, etc.) is the hours of the Sheriff's Office Window is open, else it takes longer to run the 4473 through the State's Third Party Processor. (to be clear, you still have to buy at the Dealer, go to the SO, and then back with your coupon, but time wise it is shorter for them to add than to do the dealers portion)
