It is a civilian semiautomatic rifle, of any style.
It is not a weapon of war.

I disagree.
Its ignorant to believe anyone who uses different words to refer to a Kentucky long rifle and an AR are giving in to gun grabbers.
The term 'modern sporting rifle' was coined (by NSSF, I believe) as an alternative to 'assault weapon', not as a give-in, but rather to combat the poisoning of vocabulary that the commie left loves to engage in. More of a PR move than cuck.

By adding any additional words in conjunction with “rifle” automatically gives the connotation that it’s used for the exact purpose. *Why did the man defend himself with his “modern sporting rifle” when that’s not its purpose…*, sure it sounds stupid but that’s literally how it can get spun just because we want to create additional terminology when there’s no need for it. There’s already enough stupidity in the world, there’s no reason to give them any leeway to have it turned against anyone. Why not just call it what it is, it’s a rifle and let it be.
