Hurricane Katrina happened after one isolated catastrophe. Lots of house to house went on over there. After a larger one happens where it affects the whole country causing the lights to stay out, it can easily happen again in the name of safety.
Paranoia? No. Just preparedness. It's the same level of preparedness one takes when carrying a spare magazine or stocking his pantry with extra food and water.
I won't rehash the "don't like you because you are a cop" point. It's ridiculous and you should get help with that.

I was at Hurricane Katrina. I've worn a medal for it since November of 2005. I was there when our bosses determined that it was our job to drive around empty neighborhoods looking out for looters or those in need of assistance and nothing else.
So continue to look at me however you want, but one could easily argue that the guy who bases his paranoia regarding nationwide door kicking on THE ONE and ONLY isolated similar incident EVER may be the guy who needs help...

You may feel it is far fetched and to a degree it is, but having seen the loss of rights, especially second amendment rights for the last sixty plus years, I don't think it is all that cockamamie of a scenario. There are plenty of elected representatives and bureaucrats with huge regulatory powers that would have no problem instituting such a program.

No, not you. I have been busy and haven't really read the forum much. Didn't appreciate that much after the night I had yesterday. Nothing "bad", just annoying and stressful stuff that actually does happen regularly on my job. So seeing a young kid calling me out like that was just slightly annoying.

If it came down to that in a Doomsday Scenario, the only Leo's left would be the Federal Ones. Local cops would be just as hungry as the town folk.
