Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts took to Twitter on Saturday to vilify the National Rifle Association and gun laws in Virginia as the reason behind the violent protests taking place in Charlottesville.

Watt began retweeting various tweets with the same phrase: “The radicalization of America has been encouraged by the @NRA and open carry laws, which enable armed intimidation. #Charlottesville.”

So these "white supremists" legally pay and schedule a protest. The city allows another protest gathering to protest the "supremists". WTF did they think was going to happen ? Trump gets blame because He states there is blame on a lot of sides. I concur with Him. AND of course the media is placing all the blame on the "supremists" And to blame the NRA and guns ? They should also include the maker of the car that ran those people down. I didn't hear of one shot being fired.

Why are white people who peacefully protest called "white supremists" Shouldn't the Blacks/minorities who burn buildings down be called "black supremists"...or even if they have a peaceful demonstration.....or isn't that politically correct. ?

I hate violent demonstrations. But when you have, for example, two cans of ravioli by two separate makers and call one extreme and one good when they are alike except for the cans they are in...somethings wrong

Also, how many people where shot? Sorry, I was away this weekend and only just caught the first bit of the news on this. All I saw was a car mowing people down. I didn't realize the NRA manufactured cars now.

Caught CNN today and everything was about why Trump didn't condemn the actions of the groups involved or the driver. They want instant answers from a man who's doing 100 things at once. What ever answer he gives won't make anyone happy. They say he's siding with white supremacists and doesn't want to lose the white votes later on.
This guy must already hate this job with all the crap they are giving him since day one.

Not that I necessarily support any of the crap that happened there, but I did pick up on something that was said.

In responding to the criticisms that the police didn't do enough from the beginning, the Charlottesville mayor said something to the effect of "80 percent of them were armed. Many of them had better weapons than the police. But not a single shot was fired"

I just thought it to be an interesting statement in the midst of all of this.

To my knowledge, there were no shots fired during that whole thing.

I did read that one guy was arrested for carrying a concealed handgun, but I find that curious, because supposedly VA accepts CCW permits from all states now. Maybe the guy came from a free state where no permit is required?

Strange, that there has been no mention of the cops stopping people to check for gun permits in the news...

He was from Florida. So far, I've been unable to ascertain the details surrounding the arrest.
