I remember a while back, there was an uproar by the family of a man who decided to rob a diner while armed with a gun, which was loaded, and the guy tried firing which it didn't, but was shot and killed by a patron who was there eating. The mother said almost the same thing, that he should have been given the the money and allowed to leave, nobody would have got hurt if the patron didn't kill him.

Simply amazing and it shows why/how some of these people think... That you aren't allowed to fight back... Geeeeee, I wonder where they get that from? Could it be experience? Been in a court room where the prosecutor was grilling a victim about walking away? Simply amazing...

Maybe if the family had instilled the mentality about getting a job, any job, work hard, save money, better yourself always either at work, education or in life and good things will come. Maybe, just maybe, then things would be different.

You probably also thought he wasn't capable of robbing a store with a gun either. Notice how it is everyone else's fault. The shooter, the police, etc.. It's called personal responsibility.
