Sheriff says more than 1,100 rounds fired in Las Vegas shooting
Gunman Stephen Paddock fired more than 1,100 rounds the night of the Las Vegas shooting, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Wednesday.

The new total includes about 200 rounds fired from Paddock’s Mandalay Bay corner suite and into the hallway of the 32nd floor late Oct. 1, injuring hotel security guard Jesus Campos.

Lombardo was aware of the previously unreported total because the Metropolitan Police Department’s forensics lab is working in conjunction with the FBI to process all ballistics evidence from the mass shooting, which left 58 concertgoers dead and more than 500 injured.

Investigators have not determined why Paddock stopped shooting. Lombardo said they found about 4,000 more rounds of unused ammunition in the gunman’s suite.

The sheriff also mentioned that “multiple weapons” had jammed, as the Review-Journal has previously reported, but Lombardo again did not provide a specific number. He also did not provide a detailed list of the weapons Paddock had available to him.

That doesn't reflect what was shown in that room. Unless he paused after every few magazines, grabbed the broom and dustpan, and put the brass into the provided orange buckets that each room has placed by the window for that set purpose.

Not quite, all he would have has to do was be firing from a point where the broken window was at the 1- 3 o'clock position or they was a deflection point (piece of furniture or appliance) that the 3 o'clock position. Plus the way the air handling system in hotels works is positive pressure that is why the curtains are sucked outside of the broken window. If the casings were falling close enough to the window they may have been sucked out of it.

Anything is possible, even he didn't do it and he was just a patsie that ended up dead after a bad arms deal with terrorists.

Just because your rifles were malfunctioning doesn't mean his were and vice versa.

Depending on his position in the room he the brass could have easily gone right out the window without the rifle being outside the room. The shooters position to the window would have determined where the brass went. mandalay bay shooting diagram - Google Search:

Mine tend to eject to the 2-3 o'clock positions depending on the load used.


The rounds from the hotel room could have easily gone right out the window verses the suite where they would have likely stayed in the room depending on the position of the shooter in relation to the window.

Bumpstocks don't change the ejection pattern unless the rifle gets away on you. But do we have ALL the pictures of the spent casings somewhere or are people just going off of one picture? Oh btw. They said several of the rifles jammed. I suggested that he may have had all them to account for malfunctions, overheating etc and some on here said no one would ever use more than a rifle or two lol. If I were plan something like this I would want as many loaded guns ready to go as possible. It just makes sense.
