You wont be disappointed. I really want to do myG43 with one but with the new house no unnecessary purchases.
I would also explore getting your grip crippled at the same time. The guy he works with is too notch. I think it's the best upgrade you can buy.

Stippling is fine and dandy but I hate doing something like that 'cause it can't be undone. Prefer Talon Grips.
If it' a glock and down the road you really don' like it you can always send the frame back to Glock (and fill out a warranty form) plus $100+tax and they will destroy that frame and send you a new one
Now on topic. I am not a baby gun kind of guy, but have been itching for one because I tell myself i am going to start running to get in shape lol and if I do so I want a nice small g43 or shield, and thanks to this little baby (the rms shield or shield rms) something like a 43 or shield is an option
I'm in the opposite boat. I only have a G43 to carry right now and am looking for a bigger gun. I'm between a G19 or a G17 chopped. I want to build this gun first then send my G43 out to have the Shield RMSc put on it.
@MilesTeg you should keep your eye out, i guess Shield is announcing their RMSc model, same thing but it is designed to fight subcompact or slim frame guns

its funny i go back and forth on the Shield, there are pretty much 2 different people i listen to when it comes to red dots on a handgun. Gabe Suarez from Suarez international and Aaron Cowan from Sage Dynamics..... the issue with that is both agree on a decent amount of things (ie the 3 main dots they trust for a carry/duty gun) but at the same time they are comlete opposite on a lot of things, ie this for instance Gabe is all for the RMS and sells them and has been promoting them, Aaron did a torture test and said nope not up to par with what he thinks should be on a duty gun or something... honestly for a bug or what not i have to side with Gabe (which is seeming to be one of the few things i actually seem to agree with him on, yes he knows so much more than me and is probably correct but he is also one of those "alpha males" who might also be stuck in his old ways)
I watch both of those too. I have fallen behind in the past 6 months so I haven't seen much updates. The way I see it is even if the red dot fails you always have irons to fall back on. The likely hood of it failing when needed is low. I think your more than likely to catch a failure when you do your check before holstering the gun for the day.

Would look nice on any small / compact handgun (P365 / G42 / G43) but is it worth the price of almost the original cost of the handgun itself?

Yeah of course it' worth the price. Rather spend a decent amount and get a good optic vs be cheap and get trash that will break.
And if you think iron sights are just as good as a red dot you are seriously missing out

My order and cash are in. Now comes the wait. @Edwardteach72 for me the G43 has replaced my LCP as the gun I carry when I’m not carrying a gun.
Don't know, never tried. For rifles the optic itself is king.

Agree on the optics, but I'd put 'em on a better handgun than my G42 or 43. Nice that they're offered for these compacts, but I wouldn't put $300 optics on a $400 handgun. I'd buy an $800 handgun with night sights and other amenities first.
Why not? Small handguns are harder to shoot accurately for a number of reasons.
Big reason is ......... sight radius, guess what cures that.... an optic
Funny how people won't spend a decent chunck of change on glass for an ar15 (like over $1,000 on a $600 gun) that sits in a safe 90% of the year, but bring up putting an optic on a gun they will actually carry to defend themselves and oh that's way to much money
There has been an update post with both RMS models and other manufactures slides he will mill on this deal.

Me too. Probably why, for me, I've no need to nearly double the investment of a $385 G42. Not worth it to me. To each his own...
Trust me if you ever get a chance to run a red dot defensive handgun, and run it enough to get past the learning curve (which isn't all that much) you will see how much benefit there is to it
