Cleck
.308 Win
Thought I would need the cooling methods this weekend, but I apparently did not. I just let time do the work while I sighted in my AR iron sights a little better. Trying to shoot at an 8-1/2 x 11 in. piece of paper, maybe I would do better with a bigger target, or not. At least I know I can hit it, haha. We'll work on the accuracy/grouping later.
Went to @NirvanaFan parent's house this weekend to help them w/ their season's load of firewood. Turned it into a pewpewpew day as well, took the time to make some targets. I'm sure you all would appreciate them better than my wife did

First shot of the day (for me), just a little kiss on the nose

NF set a steel plate up that they were hitting w/ the 22 rifle. Thinking that I shot it last time we did this, I took a shot at it. Being that it was hung with paracord, not only did I hit it, but I completely blew it off the cord and about 15' behind the target hanger Lesson learned - get a better hanger before you hit it w/ a 308
Me taking a kneeling shot with my AR, trying to get it sighted in better. Second one is a friend helping w/ one of our rifles as a spotting scope. We definitely need one.

NF taking one of the first potshots of the day at our little setup
Had those setup around 70 yards down range. Weren't going for anything long or super groupy, more just fun. Figured at this range, that was a typical deer shot, so I wanted to make sure I was close enough on those shots to make them count later. First two shots are me, 3rd and 4th (bottom right) were my friend. Not awful for a budget rifle heating up on a hot day. This was also the first time I've shot this ammo, as it was on sale and I wanted some "bulk" ammo to shoot. These were Federal non-typical boattail 180gr rounds. I usually shoot 150gr Hornday American Whitetail rounds. Didn't do much sighting in, just held slightly high and let 'er rip.
End of the day results on the Emperor. Still plenty of room for re-use. They were slightly more torn up after this was taken, but you get the idea
