Shooting Mat

I have and use an old Army sleeping pad. Nothing at all special about it. I keeps me from laying directly on the ground, gives a bit of cushioning.
how does it fair in the rain or wet?

Very well actually. There were many a night while serving that I did not have a tent, this would go on the ground, I climb in the fart sack and sleep well through the night. The dew and condensation never came through.

I have the basic mat from Midway for years now! Could use a pillow top though!

I posted this in my Appleseed thread, a cheap idea for a mat from Harbor freight.
I always keep a few of these in my jeep. Love them, they get too nasty; just throw them away.

I've been thinking of getting the one from midway but I always have people going with me. Maybe the harbor freight blankets are the ticket for that.

Same here the Shooting Mat from Midway is fine for my needs. Yea there are better more expensive ones but ya need to determine how much your really gonna need/use it to justify the extra $$$ .

What type of range will the matt be used on?
Midways padded matts are good for concrete/square ranges.
Midways pro: strap for your bipod feet, con: is not very portable or good in wet conditions.
I'd stay away from anything black if used in the summer sun.
Tab and Armaggedon gear make nice lightweight packable units for the field.
Moving blankets are good unless if the ground is dry.

screw midway usa .. find another source for it .. they won't send shit to NY .. ammo , BP gun to a FFL .. ect ..
