When guns are outlawed, only cops will have guns…. Wait- that’s not how it goes. Help me out here. I thought places that serve alcohol are “sensitive locations” now, no guns allowed? So how could the patrons of that bar possibly have violated Her Majesty’s edict by bringing guns to the bar? If only there was a law, with a big improvement to make it even better…. We must *DO* something!!!!!

So how could the patrons of that bar possibly have violated Her Majesty’s edict by bringing guns to the bar? If only there was a law, with a big improvement to make it even better…. 96 hours of classroom training and 14 hours of live fire qualification would have stopped that outlaw, cold.

This story is ridiculous. There's so much wrong in it.

I remember a poster here arguing with like 15 others saying that off duty police are more trustworthy than average citizens to carry guns in sensitive places. I think it was the thread about the state fair.

So an off duty out of state cop is at a bar with his girlfriend. Some sort of argument ensues, instead of being properly trained to just ignore it and let it go and leave the off duty cop brandishes his gun or menaces then the Utica guy pulls his gun (probably justified in feeling immediately threatened) and they get into a gunfight as a local cop shows up and shoots the off duty out of state sheriff 10 times.

I hope his pride was worth it. If he would have just done what every responsible gun carrier would have and just not engaged with it or quietly left this wouldn't have happened. But no. It looks like this guy really just wasn't going to back down and didn't like being challenged. His is such crap because this douche now have empresses Horechul her wild west bar shootout moment and if you can't trust police to carry them by default you certainly can't trust regular citizens.

I saw that last night. That guy got lucky.

Their aim is good though. Says they fired 11 shots and hit him 10 times.

There still seems to be some conflicting reports. Some say three guys shoved the off duty cop against a car and then he drew which caused the Utica guy to draw. If they don't have the beginning of the argument on camera then who knows who started it.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. If the cop started it then it shows a need for self defense even at a bar, which will hurt the states argument about restricted places.

I completely agree that most us here being responsible owners would ( hopefully) walk away from this before it escalated. What's interesting is he ( the cop) is charged much more heavily than the other 3 men. Leads me to potentially believe he may have been the instigator of it.

Wouldn't that be a novel idea, enforce of laws equally for all IE- if it restricts the average citizen, than law enforcement should have to obey the same restrictions.

The handguns were legal. The act if carrying them in this scenario was illegal ( yet it shouldn't be)
