Could just be the cops let him bleed out . If they knew he was wounded why risk an officers life to save his? fuck em ,let him bleed. Of course the Police cant say that . If I were the supervisor in charge, Id tell my men to hold tight hes wounded he'll give up soon , We will wait him out . shit, Im not sending any of my boys in there. Im thinking its a cover story .

He was actually hiding out in the backyard and ambushed the Syracuse city police officer as he walked around back. Apparently after that he ran towards the front of the house and shot one of the first officers he saw reacting to the shots he fired out back. This makes more sense to me. I found it odd that 2 officers were killed by just going up to the door. If the perp was hiding and ambushed them then I can understand how this happened.

WTF? Someone in a residence shooting at cops requires a warrant to enter? Since when? If a crime is being committed in front of them they can go in due to exigent circumstances. I'd say someone coming out shooting qualifies

I think he ended up leaving the house to shoot the cops but who knows these days. They seem to be on a huge warrant kick as my cop friend just told me even if they see something in plain sight they are getting warrants. I was confused too. You know criminals rights are massively important

“The gun was a “cannibalized” assortment of parts, District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said Thursday.

If Murphy had purchased an AR-15 in New York state he would have needed a semi-automatic permit as well as a background check when buying the gun, according to a New York state website on gun rules. By making the gun out of parts, he avoided the permit, Fitzpatrick said. Murphy purchased a lower barrel receiver legally in 2019, Fitzpatrick said. He still would have had a background check, he said. Then he added more parts including a protruding pistol grip, which made the gun illegal in New York state, Fitzpatrick said. He probably procured the additional parts online, Fitzpatrick said. Murphy did not need any permits to build the gun, he said.”


This makes it sound like buying a stripped lower and assembling a complete, functional SA rifle without a SA permit is not unlawful. Interesting…

And the anti-gun people are snickering behind the scenes loving this. This just gave them "another win" forward, for even MORE gun laws.

Back in 2019, when he bought the lower, a background check was all that was required. The latest un-Constitutional infringement, a "semi-auto permit", wasn't added until much later.

Still don't need permits or permission for the other parts, though.

We should require background checks and permits for assault DA's. They do more damage than any gun.

Correct. I think you understand my point, though: a SA permit is not required to buy a stripped lower, nor is it required to lawfully purchase the rest of the components to assemble a fully functional SA rifle. The DA tries to hint that this dicksack circumvented the regs by doing just that, although he said the BGC in 2019 was required, and buying other parts is lawful. It’s political double talk to confuse the legality of it. As it stands, other than the swappable 40 round magazine, the rifle could have been NYS compliant with a fixed 10 rnd mag, as we’re all well aware. I’m placing the easy bet that NYS Senate tries to shut that down with a brand new infringement.

The states name will now be changed to, "New Infringement" instead of New York.
