Shot for coyote

I usually use rifle for coyote but thought I'd try shotgun some this year. Was looking for deals for shot at Wallyword today but of course they only have suitable shot for birds.
I have a choice of my Baikal 12g O/U with Full/Mod fixed chokes, and my 1100 20g with fixed Imp choke.
What are you guys using for shot? Assuming I can find anything in stock locally.

I use hevi shot dead coyote T shot with my 870 12 ga with the dead coyote choke tube. I have only taken a 1 grey fox with it, I normally rifle hunt predators.

I kinda expected to not find anything at Wallyworld but absolutely refuse to do business with Dickheads, I dont care if it were $1 a case. The only other LGS I remember never carried much of anything. May have to find somewhere to order some.

@FrankenCub make your own .. i bought the drippers from them .. its a learning curve to make perfect shot .. but globs will still kill ya lol

It used to be more money lol. I bought mine with gift cards years ago. I have also used 4 and 00 buckshot.

i got a old old redding press .. if i need parts they need to search the basement lol .. i think it was givin to me or was under 50 bucks lol ..
that got me into reloading .. then ohh i got dads lee press .. lets get that out .. then it snow balled . lol ..

i got the redding when i first started to shoot skeet .. getting used to it after a few months when i wanted to go shoot .. i could knock out 50 rounds in 20 min and off to shoot ..

my first 25/25 on the O/U was my loads and 24/25 with the moss pump on my loads .. give u a fuzzy feelin lol

you could get the lee load all off amazon .. its really basic .. but will make bang bangs ..

It's not a waste. Empty hulls are everywhere. Shot and wads are dirt cheap. I pick a day where I dont have a lot going on in late spring and can put together 100 bird and 100 buck in a few hours. I use a Lee loadall.

How about some of the 3" goose shot in tungsten? It's designed for long range? Turkey loads in 3"?

If you're collecting pelts. .22 mag up to .233 . Head shot. If you're not worried about a well ventilated pelt then the turkey or goose loads would work good for pest control.

Both my shotguns are 2 3/4, I see most of the good loads are 3". I was wondering about the tungsten loads and how my Baikal barrels would deal with that stuff. It's dated 1993 so not terribly old.

That's what I was leaning towards, that or BB load depending what I can find.
I still havent shot the Baikal yet since I bought it lol. Some comments I was reading on another forum was saying these guns say Full and Mod, but are really fuckin tight and full

Ive shot 2 coyotes in my life.
Neither for sport or pelt.
One was shot with a 308....put a nice hole through its spine at the base of the neck...he never even flinched.
The second one I shot with a 12 gauge slug.
Removed everything from his jaw to his eyes. He was dead on impact but did a bit of flopping.

Not all calling spots are really rifle friendly. A couple spots are really dense, I've literally been damn near run over lol. Shotgun to the head is the best in those spots otherwise risk a poor hit.
I'm mainly looking to collect wall hangers, I dont see making much money off them.

I've been using my #4 buck reloads.
More pellet's = more chances of a hit.
I've been using a baikal 12ga O/U that I shortened to 18" or a Maverick Tactical O/U in a scabbard for day hunts.
While only two shots, You can shoot quick and the shorter barrels are great for carrying and maneuvering in a blind.
I used to use the deerslayer, but it was too heavy and I missed getting a dog once when I decided to not carry it because of it's weight.
