I've been on the lookout for one also.. seems one of the highest rated ones is the PACT Club Shot Timer 3... but it's also ~$140 on Amazon right now. I thought about trying some of the free shot timer apps but seems they aren't very reliable.
I have one of these and its great. I will say a bit different than the PACT timer but it works for me and have had zero issues in the 3 years I have had it ! This is a good price also,I paid around $130 for mine. Check it out ! Competition Electronics Pocket Pro Shot Timer
CED7000. I like this one better than the above because this one has the ability to use a par time that can be set for several min.
The above time will not go over 100 sec on par i believe. It also flips at 100. I think it is 100. So if the stage is 120 it shows like 20. So if the stage is over over 200 sec. it gets hard to remember is it was 120 or 220, eapecually if the RO is not paying attention to the timer.. Etc etc.
If you are using it to train for draws etc. it is not a hig deal any will work. But if you plan to run long stages at anytime them the CED7000 is the way to go.
Ah,,could be that's why I see that one at most Matches ! I never see a PACT or one like mine when I go to IDPA/USPSA shoots, guess that's why . I hear ya though,,I do use mine for basic training etc and its always worked fine. Thanks for the extra info.
All of them are like different kinds of mid-level cars. They get the job done, but you have to familiarize and orient yourself to the interface. They have similar functions but different ways of getting those done.
I have no real preference for any - when I am back on a REAL computer I will try and time up some details.
