Shotgun Cut Shells

I have not tried these. I've seen several videos. Anyone tried these or any experience? Thoughts? Obviously for single shot only.

PS: If I were to try this, lead only because lead is malleable and deforms. Steel shot I would not try this with.

i seen this vid .. haven't tried it .. yeah lead is malleable , but the the steel shot could just expand out of the wadding and elongate .. maybe matt on demo ranch could test this .. you know he is up for anything lol ..

#2 .. i think my moss 500AT pump .. cyl bore .. would eat cut shells and spit them out with no problem .. putting the full choke barrel on it may have issues .. lol

It's sitting in a plastic shot cup surrounded by a plastic hull, that'll deform plenty.

Neat concept. Reminds me of another YouTube video on wax slugs. The wax slugs are more work since you'd cut the crimp out, dump the pellets into molten wax, and pour the mixture into the shell. Seems like a similar result though.

wish he would have went with #9 and even #10 shot in wax and see what happened .. he only went to bigger sized shot ..

Another data point would've been nice. My guess is that results in terms of accuracy would vary so wildly based on gun, donor ammo, choke, etc. that it would be like working up a handload and you'd just have to try a bunch to see how it does with your specific shotgun.

Shell dia. is like .785" and cyl. bore is like .730" which is an interference fit however you look at it. Think it possible when fired the crimp opens letting the wad/shot column exit the barrel while the shell itself stays in the barrel creating a bore obstruction?

I like my shotgun too much to try that.
