induce you own stress on the range .. watch it all or jump to 3:33 .. just a option i have seen from a pro shooter with a pistol .. do it with a shotty

It would be hard to find a range or club where you could do the things you want. Private land maybe. Did you ever think of trying any competitive shooting? USPSA of 3 gun? It's a great way to develop your skills.

Definitely want to try to get to some classes. Not sure I want to spare the ammo right now, and I'm also a little out of shape recovering from Lyme over the last couple months.

Walmart in Fishkill has the 100 round count case of birdshot for a whopping $24.
Was there last week and bought 9 cases.
Came back 4 days later and they restocked the shelves. Apparently no one wants birdshot.

Good to know, thanks! Will definitely be looking over your calendar for this (and actually, I'd like to come down and take some pistol classes, working on acquiring some of the needed accessories).

@Curmudgeon - I think one issue you run into here is that for me at least, you want to do it in a controlled environment where you already know the people you're shooting with. Was musing elsewhere about having a group fun shoot and meet and greet somewhere around here (BM probably) with some like minded peeps when the dust settles a bit. Might be time to resurrect @ArmedCorgi's thread on that, even if we can't organize something until this KAOS settles. There's so many of us on this forum but all over the state, and there are only so many places to shoot that I know its hard to organize stuff like this.

@Curmudgeon - Might be time to resurrect @ArmedCorgi's thread on that, even if we can't organize something until this KAOS settles. There's so many of us on this forum but all over the state, and there are only so many places to shoot that I know its hard to organize stuff like this.

We tried to organize something a while back, even did a super cheap "forum members" class and only had three or four sign up. It's always a good idea until it's time to make it happen, then people can't commit.

I think the biggest issue is geography. We are all too spread out. After that, it's probably people not trusting.

In the thread I posted on the whole range event, there were a lot of people who expressed that they would not ever want to meet up and shoot with others, because they don't trust others with guns. Or rather, "strangers" with guns. I can imagine those that said as much are not alone in feeling that way.

It is. Though I think for a few of them, a lot of that point of view had to do with seeing some of the personalities and dicussions on here and deciding they wouldn't want to shoot with those people.

Now that I think about it, the other reason could be because I used the NYS police troop region map to define the regions for a forum range event, lol. People probably thought it was a trap, haha.

A lot of people at the OFT classes have been there before. Ben and his crew know who to watch for safety issues after warm up drills.

I've never had any safety (or "trust") concerns at an OFT course that I've attended (pistols, carbines, shotguns).

Ben's DEFENSIVE SHOTGUN classes are downright, AWESOME. You won't regret attending one. I wish I could goto tonight's 3 hour SHOTGUN SKILL BUILDER class, but stuck at work!

@OnSight Firearms Training I need to pick up a class worthy holster and probably a good double mag pouch (not to mention additional magazines). I open carry my CZ 75 at home in a Yaqui that serves me well for my purposes but probably not appropriate for a class.

I also need to work the F out because I am out of shape a little.
