Fake news. Hospitals are a No Firearms zone.
....which is the official langua.......oh, never mind. The problem is "NO GUN ZONE" signs are only printed in English.
Latest from ABC News - It was the murder / suicide of a couple in their 70's believed to be married. Female was a patient, male was a visitor.
It is not illegal to carry a firearm in a hospital. Facilities may have their own policies, etc.
That said, I've carried at Westchester Medical Center many times. The first two visits I checked their website beforehand for any firearms policy and found nothing. Upon entering those times I looked for signage at the main entrance and saw nothing. I still "look" upon entering, but not very hard. Never an issue. As stated above, there's no screening upon entrance.
So...tell me why physicians that order meds (that can kill you), can decide not to order meds (that can end up killing you), can do procedures on you (which can kill you), cannot carry a defensive firearm?
Westchester county generally says they can't since they deny carry permits.Who says they can't? It may be their employers policy, other than that...

Technically, does this count as a mass shooting?
They are Yorktown Heights residents which is in Westchester County, and Westchester almost never issues full Carry Permits unless you are connected. So many assumptions..
Who says their permit was issued in Westchester?
The murderer was in his 70s. So, he could have obtained a carry permit back when Westchester judges were Americans. They are Yorktown Heights residents which is in Westchester County, and Westchester almost never issues full Carry Permits unless you are connected.
The report doesn't paint this as a "bad guy" situation. Sounds like he had the courage to do something I can't imagine. I feel bad for both of them. This is just more proof that you cannot guard against a bad guy with a gun in all cases. If this guy had wanted to do more than kill his wife, he could have easily have stepped out of the room, gone over to the nurses' station, and started blasting away at hospital staff and other visitors. By the time police would have responded, a lot of damage could have been done.
