I mean, I don't doubt that the citizens of Newburgh are safer with Mr. Alleyne off the streets, but there is something that "does not compute" in our criminal justice-reformed New York that this poor gentleman of color must serve 11 years in prison for impulsively popping off his Taurus on the street while his brethren in crime routinely do less for beating or stabbing innocent men and women within inches of their life or even to death.
