Two pages of bickering and no one has pointed out the obvious: Even if you take every word of Liptak's op-ed as accurate truth, it's just pissing in the wind if we can't claw back the culture - fast. Every decision, every judicial appointment can and will be undone or countered when the pendulum of power inevitably swings back left. If you take nothing from the last two years take this: the right is now centrist at best, especially on gun rights. Precious few American know and understand our individual rights and how they are inexorably linked to freedom. None of the gun rights organizations are changing this in any appreciable way and that is a fatal mistake. The politicians will follow their constituents' majority opinion but we are losing majority opinion one town, one county, one district at a time.
To clarify, I said it scared LIBTARDS, and that was all - libtards are the "useful idiots" of the Marxists in power in Cali and NYS. Scared libtards pressure their "leaders" to curtail the supposed power of the NRA and, by implication, the rights of gun owners.
The NRA has been completely remiss in totally ignoring the obvious threat in Cali and NYS to the 2A, and the BOR in general. Ignoring this threat in 2 of the 4 most populous states threatens the BOR in the entire country.
IMHO, this is why there is a strong effort to eliminate the electoral college, thus abrogating the power and rights of the rest of the union.
Nope...I didn't forget but NOW that a 5-4 majority has been reestablished and Ruth living on borrowed time what's Tom "Graft" King and the NRA's excuse now.

By post 1994 AWB I assume you are talking about the first NYS AWB? If so, Court challenges to the Federal ban failed so the State ban mirrored that ban would also be expected to fail also NO?
As for the Sullivan Act (Penal law 400) it was challenged most recently Kachalsky v. Cacace - Wikipedia and lost. Now there one thing about this law that I don't believe has ever been challenge ( maybe two) that would turn it on it's ear, and that is Open Carry! Force Open Carry in this State watch restricted license's go Bye Bye. The possible second is the need to have a license to just own a handgun?
You want to see State reciprocity? Get the five States that don't allow Open Carry to come together and fight for what the other 45 States have (Just the way Gay marriage passed, which is not a Constitutional Right) See how fast the Lib's say on no cover it up we don't want to see it, We will recognize your States CCW!

Yes I would like to see one conservative on the Court as I mentioned above sort of a fail safe if Roberts lets us down! If he doesn't 6-3 is even better!

I can see a couple problems with the entire process.
First, we must DEMAND term limits. Part of the problem is the entrenched douche bags like schumer and pelosi and McConnel and Durbin, King and a few others that are so obligated to lobbiests they will do anything and everything to get re-elected. And thats the problem. They spend a couple million dollars to get re-elected to a $179K/yr job....why? greed and power. And, quite frankly, it's easy money. You literally don't have to lift a finger to get paid. Lets remove the financial asspect of being a politician and the rest will go away. remove the pensions, the freebie benefits and they rest will take care of itself
Second, my issue with the NRA is this, I send them my money, what did I get in return? There is no ROI ( Return on investement) I, like a couple million other folks, would like to see our money working FOR US. I know thats selfish. But you know what, I ain't rich. If i spend money, its on something that will "get me something" As far as I can see, the NRA is ok nationally, but that does nothing for New Yorkistan. To me this is like sending in my car payment to the wrong bank, Yes I sent the payment in, it didn't help my situation, at all.
Third. Culture, this is something that I feel, at this time, is insurmountable. The children (yes, they are children) no longer have 'critical thinking skills". They are told what to think, when to think it and then repete it. If they disagree with a professor, they are slapped down and their money is wasted because now the professor will fail them. This is called mind control. Do what I say, when I say it or you are not moving forward. These children have been brain washed (as Eric Holder said) to think a certain way, and it's working. You can not have a rational discussion with a anyone that disagrees with you. They get mad and either start screaming hystarically or they start throwing punches. these kids think THEIR rights out weigh anyone elses rights
and last, i see no future where individual rights and due process remain. Especially on either coast. The elite want the power and they will get that power by crook, period. I see a DARK future with a lot of strife and pain. As they say, Freedom isn't free. This is, at some point, going to take physical force. I just hope Im not to old to join the fight.
