Siena poll: Cuomo holds wide lead over Molinaro

Liberal Poll for what it's worth.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) leads his closest rival by 22 percentage points in a six-person field for governor, a Siena College poll released Monday found.

The poll found Cuomo leading Republican Marc Molinaro 50 percent to 28 percent. Cynthia Nixon received 10 percent as the candidate of the Working Families Party. Libertarian candidate Larry Sharpe, Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner, running an independent bid, all poll in the single digits.

The numbers are there in theory to beat Cuomo regardless of these polls, too many motivated: welfare queens, bleeding hearts, Dem state workers, and Republicans who are also are closet Cuomo-lovers b/c they love their government benefits.

Republicans could win this if they would just show up and vote party line, basic math, YES, more of us have to vote than Dems, so need better turnout.

I will vote for him, I am far from exited about him.

He is not even sure what he stands for or why he does.

No, it means that 21% of polled Republicans who plan on voting will vote for him. There are Republicans who either won't vote at all or will undervote for governor. (There are also those who will scatter vote for third parties or write-ins but polls should count them in statistics).

I have been putting some serious thought into running for an office. I am not sure America is ready for my mouth, my attitude and my beliefs. We'll see.

Do ya think it was "ready" for Trump? I'd love to see a surge of complete outsiders to the political sphere. The biggest hurdle I think is combating voter apathy. People vote the status quo in over and over because they're lazy and unmotivated to better themselves or their situation.

I see alot about red and blue, has anyone looked at Sharpe? He's the only one openly talking about getting rid of the safe act. He's pro 2nd in every way shape and form. I'm not a super political guy but he seems to be overlooked because he's not red or blue and I guess most people don't bother looking because they feel he's a "wasted vote"

Biggest hurdle I see isn't voter apathy, it's money.

Let's be honest as much as I like some of the things Sharpe says he's even less electable statewide than Molinario.

Yep. I've got my Larry Sharpe Lawn sign out. I've been stamping my money and correspondence "Larry Sharpe For NYS Governor". I can't get behind Molinaro because he IMHO is very soft on the 2nd Amendment and his running mate walks and talks like a Democrat on gun control and is very pro unSAFE Act. How can Molinaro claim he's for the 2nd Amendment and pick an anti gun running mate? I feel that we are just trading one anti gunner for another. I'll probably be flamed for this post.

Sharpe is thrown vote, might as well vote fuckface......Molinaro may not be ideal, but he's got the best chance this election. The issue is again, just like with Astorino, people getting off their lazy asses and getting the votes out there on the ballot instead of just bitching and crying about FUAC!!! We NEED to get rid of him on soooooo many levels!

At this point I’m convinced the federal government will do nothing to intervene regardless of what Cuomo does. He could have death squads going door to door, throwing conservatives in box cars, and the feds would be just as dickless.

It’s not surprising the democratic part also affords Cuomo the same degree of leeway. No matter what he does, the dems can’t get off the plantation and stop voting for him.
