Sig 320/M17

in the market for a new 9mm narrowed it down to 3 Kimber Target 11 1911 in 9mm Beretta APX and Sig 320/M17 I own a Kimber in 45 and love it have handeled and shot the APX really nice gun have no clue about the Sig seems as though they are having problems with them going off intentionally. any true info not hear say or fake news on the Sig would be helpfull

u are right about both ends of the spectrum I love the 1911 platform that being said I'm retiring 1 of my Beretta 92 series pistols that I also love so I'm down 1 self defense/ military pistol. I do not own a striker fired gun can't seem to like them but have to concede that they are the wave of the future. I've had the oportunity to spend some time with the Beretta APX seems super reliable as most Beretta's are I mean we fired 100's of rounds of factory and reloads some of wich were pretty hot and it never missed a lick the trigger was a bit strange at first but the more I shot it the easier it became I could easily live with this pistol. the only thing the puts the Sig in the picture is that the military bought it why I've no clue. I have a grand son serving on active duty now who is not enthusiastic about the Sig. he has not been issued 1 only talked to others who have been issued them. so that's the long and short of it plus it seemed as though the net was aflame with reports of the Sig going off if it was dropped. I think that Sig finally owned up to the problem but can't seem to find a definitive answer. I have a very close friend who I trust that bought a Sig rifle that was nothing but trouble and Sig kept trying to put the blame on him he maintains his weapons scrupulously he finally traded it for an FN.

Sounds like you are talking yourself into a Beretta. You already own a true 1911 (45apc) so go for the APX. Or a CZ P10 c...

Hmm cz hadn’t thought about them or the smith too many choices the only reason I’m leaning beretta is because I’ve actually fired 1 the sig is only hear say that’s why I,m seeking advice. Wish there was a place close where I could rent 1 of each and make my own decision

The sign is nice, but the trigger was too touchy for me to be confident to carry it. I like the MP and I love the Springfield xd I have. Nice gun and I’ve heard nothing but good things from others who own a Springfield xd.

It strikes me you are an experienced, hammer-fired, metal framed kind of guy? Why the move to polymer striker fired? Weight? Do you carry (I admit I don't). Just curious.

You may be right they're the wave of the future, but who cares, if it doesn't work for you? I recently went down a similar rabbit hole for a 9mm and wound up ordering a CZ 75 BD (full size, metal, with a decocker instead of a safety).

Just as a heads up in my original post I said I’m a big fan of beretta 92/M9 pistols while retiring 1 I still own 3 2 9mm and 1 40 so while the cz seems to be a fine pistol it would be redundant I’m in the process of trying to get an all steel model the sig seems to be a good choice in that the military adopted it but I’ve not been able to hold 1 let alone shoot 1 plus it seems to have so many problems and I can’t seem to get a diffinitve answer about whether they have fixed it

My P320 has about 1500 rds through it now. flawless. I would love to get a P320 Xcarry if I were to do it again. It's a great gun and aftermarket will be huge in the future. I don't think you can go wrong with it. Get an XCARRY!

Do they make a p320x carry with a 10 round mag. ? ... A quick search does not seem to bring one up. The P320 and the P320x take different mags .The Sig site only mentions a 17 round mag for the X version.

I like my P320 a lot so much so I own 2 . 90 % of the time it is my carry gun . Fits my hand well and is very accurate . Have not had a hiccup with it.
The 2nd one I bought a few months ago did have a very tight take down lever . It actually jammed and I sent it back to sig . The said take it to a gun smith . NO I sent it back to them and they fixed it. Seems to be common problem . The later ones are machined to closer tolerance I was told . I works just fine now . Many folks said the problem with the lever would fix itself over time. Mine would not move more than 50 % . I don't think a serious issue and they fixed it. Serious .. meaning it was not a drastic fix and got the same gun back .

Ya know looking around I do not see a Xcarry 10 mag either but what I do know is that for people who want the X carry grip frame can buy that and put it on a standard P320. The Standard Carry Mags can be easily filed on the sides of the base plate to accept the new X carry frame. There are you tube videos on such. So you could purchase an Xcarry and use standard P320 Carry magazines that you modify. Not hard to do at all.

Yes .. We are California lite as far as certain gun models are concerned . .. Not like the roster that they have but it still sucks . Now I don't do competition shooting ... Wish I was that good ..But this seems to be the go to gun for many. ... Except us folks here in Cuomoland .

If the Leftists win the day, all semi-automatic firearms will be banned. There aren't many striker-fired revolvers available.

Congrats I own a p320c and love it I put the apex flat trigger on it also.

I'm really curious if the FN 509 and Beretta APX are ever going to gain more traction and popularity or just be relegated as an after thought.

Everything I read on the MHS testing they all did pretty well but I haven't heard much since.

Hell for that matter the CZ P10 got quiet too. Not nearly as much hype on that recently

I already have an fnx-9 but I am thinking about the 509 because I dont have a strike fire yet. And fuck glocks.
