P320 Blows Up But Keeps On Working - The Firearm Blog
A friend shared this with me. Upon his request he wishes to remain anonymous. He witnessed a catastrophic malfunction with someone’s Sig P320 Tacops.

It was a box stock SIG P320 Tac Ops. The ammo was reloaded and was believed to be a double charge because of the amount of brass flow

OUCH! That's pretty amazing he wasn't seriously hurt. Good testament to SIG quality though.

I wonder if anything other than the frame was damaged? If not then that is an easy fix for the P320.

I haven't been too impressed by some of these newer sig polymer frame pistols lately. Won't be my first choice for another pistol anytime soon, that's for sure.

Well, well aren't we biased? If this is the result of a double charge as stated then any gun would have been at least damaged. And if the the chassis is undamaged then this guy can repair/replace the gun without even having to deal with an FFL. If the slide is alright won't be a big deal to get back in service at all.

True, many polymer handguns would have been damaged too. Although, some have designed a way to mitigate overpressure by implementing plates that blow off if something like this does happen. There are just better options out there right now, at least I think so in the same class. And biased towards what exactly? Because I don't like this gun that much?
