SIG P320/P365xl Spectre Comp

Well it looks as if SIG has brought 2 new factory offerings to the market with production Comps. Love the idea, I haven't shot a pistol with a Comp.
Anyone with experience with a Comp on a pistol? Do they reduce recoil like they advertise? The P365xl version has the comp built in the slide itself.

I'm concerned with the P365xl with the amount of carbon build up on the slide being a shorter barrel than the slide itself and with the barrel tilt with a longer slide. Thinking this is NY legal though.

Depends on how the comp is attached. if the barrel is threaded than no it is not NY legal. My guess is not NY state legal. NYS 265.22(c)(v).

I have shot compensated pistols since the 90s. The compensators do build up carbon and lead(if you shoot lead bullets) pretty fast. The group I shot with made scrapers out of flat tip screwdrivers to scrape the comps out after each match we shot.. Pretty much the only draw back to a compensator on a 1911 pistol. on the other types of guns where the barrel didn't come out of the front of the slide disassembly was more a pain in the ass. you did need to take the comp off before taking the barrel from the slide. and if you did not clean it often the comp would build up carbon between the barrel threads and the comp making it almost impossible to remove without soaking it in carbon dissolving solution.
