Sighting a Picatinny Laser using a Boresight Laser on my KSG

I'd like a Picatinny Laser for my KSG, and use a Boresight Laser to zero it.

Probably at ten meters would do.

As it would be for personal defense, I'd be legally screwed if I shot at a further distance (ok, more legally screwed).

Any advice or recommendations ?

I'm thinking a very low power Boresight Laser, and a more powerful Picatinny, so as to be useful in daylight.

Are there daytime lasers that work better with googles of some sort ?

Green lasers are visible in daylight to a point. You should be able to see a green dot at 50 yards and closer in all but the brightest sunshine. I think I would purchase a good green laser and use the iron sights to dial it in. Viridian lasers are great, but a little pricey. They won't quit working under heavy recoil though, so I think they're worth the extra $.

I'm looking for a way to "Dial It In" without visiting a Range.

Because any Range is fairly far from me, and sadly, I am recovering from shoulder surgery, and do not wish to fire it at all, unless circumstances make that necessary.

Do you have iron sights on it ? Go to the basement or garage or wherever you get the range you want to sight in for. Put up a piece of cardboard and set your gun up in a rest or sandbags, whatever. Then move the laser to the target. Keep checking the iron sights until the dot and the sights align. It can't be that far off, it's a shotgun.

Green would be the way to go. For my KSG, I just put a Bushnell red dot on it. I don’t ha e iron sights as of yet, but even if the battery goes dead on the red dot, I just place the target in the middle of the reticle.

Does it have to be a laser? Red dot sights are essentially invisible lasers that only you can see and they can remain on constantly for 5 years. One less thing to to have to press when you grab it.

They also hold zero much better than an external laser.
