Simple question...Buying smokeless powder...legal to ship to NY ?

I have researched this and I am still confused. Sorry if this has been beat to death...if it has can you post a link to my answers please ?

Question: Can I buy smokeless powder on line and have it shipped to my home in NY state(not the city) .

There is a limit as to how much powder can be shipped in one order. I believe that it is 36lbs ( 4 8lb jugs).

Places like Brownels have 1 cent Haz Mat promos from time to time.

You cannot have your buddy buy some and ship it to you unless he has a haz mat account with UPS/ FedEx.

Get with a friend or two and take advantage of bulk sales and the one price hazmat. I've bought a lot of powder from American reloading (I think that's the name I lost a lot of links when my other computer died) every once in a while I find a deal on surplus or pull down powder and buy 8,16,or 32 pounds depending on the deal.

I have an order in,UPS signature required . Ordered some of my favorite IMR,Hodgdon, and VV powder . Also ordered some Shooters World powders,never used them before...price was good so I decided to give them a try.
