Single stage press.. but which one?

Im split between the The Forster Co-Ax single stage, the Hornady progressive .and the Dillion750

I loved how the Dillion worked , Like the Hornady too. Seems to save a lot of time , but the Dillion can crank out something like 500 rounds an hour once set up . Thats a lot of press. Im not going to shoot 500 rounds an hour , The co ax seems to be a little slower than the other single stages. the RSB Summit Has no de priming thing. which moves me to the Redding .

Lots of pros and cons to choose from.

Used to reload shot shells with my dad back in the early 80s. Thought about signing up for night time classes on reloading Runnings offered last winter but things got too busy.

No de priming?? That would be built into the die NOT the press. The priming can or not be built into the press, lots of guy prefer priming off the press with a hand primer, I do a lot of that while watching a movie.

I looked at the Lee that someone posted and noticed a progressive Lee press for less than the single stage that I'm also considering. Lee seems to be one of the cheaper ones for parts and accessories and that's more my budget now. Anyways, any thoughts on this press??

Do yourself a favor and buy a single stage or a turret press, that way you only have to worry and fuss with one die at a time. Also the priming systems that Lee uses is the weak point and can give you fits until you master it. If all your going to do is 22-250 then I would defiantly stay away from a progressive press, they are more for large batches/high production also not real precision.
If you get the Lee 4 hole turret you can use it as a single stage by removing the (whatever they call it) bar, then size/deprime all your cases then hand prime them and charge in a block, then seat the bullet and crimp (do you crimp a 22-250?? IDK never done them)Doing it this way isn't as fast as a progressive but it can be done easily in stages over a period of time without issues. As time goes by and you add another caliber just buy another 4 hole die head and swap it out in seconds without having to reset your dies.

I agree and I will say buy the Lee Classic Cast,,,,its made of better materials and will last you a lifetime

I was going to go with that myself , but it seems most of the mid level stuff is gone .Im glad I didn't get a progressive now , I spent more than I wanted to but my choices were limited due to the ammo shortage .I ended up with Redding stuff because it was the most available and had a good reputation. I would have settled for a Hornady or rcbs , but they were all gone.as was The Forster co ax .

I meant to write the Lee breech lock challenger press.
I load everything from .20 practical to 338 edge with no issues and have been doing so for a long time.
The breech lock feature lets you change calibers and die in seconds.
A lot of the videos show users loading primers into the priming arm by hand and I could see doing that with the older flimsy style priming system (especially the 2.0 version), but I've been using the newest 3.0 version Lee safety priming system on mine for awhile and it works like it should.

Don't get the cheapest!!!! For a while China was dumping some real inferior crap (surprise) and I saw a couple of pics of china "O" type presses broken in half or the ram hole bored off center or crooked. I don't remember the name but they where silver or gray and sold on evilbay

I would go with the RCBS Rock Chucker Kit. You have everything you need except the dies.

I located a like new Lee 3 hole Turret press manual indexing with 4 of the turrets, 22-250 die set set plus extra stuff locally for under $100. Seems like a decent deal and will be picking it up Wednesday with any luck. Decent press I hope. Looks nice. Are these difficult to set up? I liked the idea of having one turret already set so there shouldn't be much adjustment if any at all if I chose to reload other calibers. At least I think that's how it's suppose to work.

Right now thats as good a deal you'll find. Not hard to set up at all, just screw in one set of die's in a turret and then adjust each separately as per directions. When you want to change from say .357 to .44mag just put in a new turret and insert die's, while the .357 die is sitting on a shelf waiting for it's next turn to dance.
OH YEAH, don't worry about the 4th hole, it can be left empty or used with a powder measure or whatever you want. Personally I charge cases in a block then after visually checking them I set a bullet on top and move that case to the seater die and seat.
