If you have been thinking of putting together a SKS that says FUAC all over it, then this is yours and 100% legal on both NYS and 922r Federal requirements.

This rifle started out as a type 56 factory 26 made in 1967. It is Paratrooper length with the 16 inch barrel. Originally it had a 30 round removable magazine which had to go Bye, bye. I did not want a lot of mismatching numbers so I located a very nice fixed magazine with no numbers. Also has a receiver cover sans numbers. Receiver, FCG and bolt carrier all match. Head spacing is good and there are no indication of over expanded shells or cracked shell from incorrect head spacing. Rifle functions as designed with no issues.

Sale will be with the original wood stock which is in nice condition. Also included are all original parts that were replaced to meet 922r compliance.

Made in the USA 922 r compliant parts are Murray's trigger and hammer, USA made gas piston and a phoenix Tech. Stock with hand guard. The phoenix hand guard is not installed as it is not needed to meet 922r compliance. It is included with the rifle though. Instead the rifle has a SKS light weight jungle stock hand guard installed. Additionally there is a new “steel cheese grater hand guard included with the rifle. Three hand guards in all. There are three accessory rails for the Phoenix Tech. Stock as well.

Additionally Tom Prince ( AKA Kivari ) has done his magic on the FCG. There is now positive sear engagement and a very nice trigger. I have no way of measuring it. However, Tom's exact words to me were “ trigger measures 3.8 pounds, lets call it 4 pounds even”.

I did not spare much in getting the rifle to where it is. There was about $70.00 in shipping alone for the parts and getting the FCG to Tom and back. I am writing the shipping off and am willing to take a modest loss on the initial purchase of the rifle and all the parts required to meet 922r requirements. m

So here is the list of what buyer gets.

1)Triangle 26 SKS paratrooper

2)Original wood stock in decent shape ( This rifle was not purchased as a “gunsmith special )

3) Phoenix Technologies “kicklite” stock. This is the recoil reducing stock that absorbs recoil like the ones they sell for shotguns. It feels about like a .22 Magnum when firing. The pistol grip has a neat storage area inside it. Stock is telescoping and fits the receiver and barrel very snugly. Fore stock is pre drilled for the 3 accessory rails included. I did not buy the stock grooved for a bayonet. So no bayonet when in the scary configuration. The pistol grip on this stock does NOT need to be removed to take the rifle totally apart. In fact the pistol grip is an integral part of the stock which makes it very secure and stable

1. all original parts. ( trigger, hammer, jungle stock hand guard, cleaning kit, I do not have the rod at present, original wood stock, original gas piston, etc)
   
   
2. new metal cheese grater hand guard with attaching ferrules included.
   
   
3. Spike bayonet with the attaching hardware. It is full length with the very end of the tip broken. There is plenty there to shorten to proper Para length if someone wanted it in position with the original wooden stock.
   
   
4. Half dozen good original stripper clips

I will also sell to the buyer if they want it Brown bear ammo at .22 cents a round. I believe I have 1,000 rounds. Also available is a couple of boxes of Yugo.M 67 ammo on stripper clips for .30 cents a round.

I will travel to meet someone ½ way of the total distance between us. That should cover just about all of the State and some of VT, MA NJ and PA.

Sale must be done 100% legally. Buyer finds the FFL and pays the FFL fee's.

For what its worth, this will be C&R eligible in 3 months. Then that 30 round removable mag will be kosher again (with registration to keep it legal ).

Thanks for the Info. When the original paratrooper SKS arrived I had my FFL hold the detachable Mag. and made arrangements for him to ship out of State for me. It is available if and when it can be used. However, I doubt anyone is interested in registering.

Excuse my lack of knowledge in the area of import regulations. I do not handle any sales which involve this kind of rifle. Does a buyer/seller still have to be concerned with 922r regs, or are the imports modified to compliance before distribution to wholesalers and others? Or do the regs just apply to builds and existing firearms which have been around before the 922r regs? Or, please just direct me to a link which will educate me on this. Thanks.

The 922r thing can get a little confusing. Some folks just ignore it and point out that they have never heard of a 922r conviction.
My preference was to not take a chance in NYS. I figure the possibility of some LEO like "officer slappy" laying eyes on the black SKS with a pistol grip
exists. That in itself is really not a big deal as the rifle is NYS State legal with the fixed magazine. However, once he/she or the DA come to realize their disappointment they might just jump on the Federal 922r wagon and get the Feds involved. In the case of the rifle I am selling I made certain that I had that angle for a conviction covered as well.

I feel the same way. It cost me about 75 bucks to replace parts that make the rifle 922r compliant.

I am really wanting to get out of long guns entirely. I only have one or two handgun on my want list. A Bisley grip Single action Ruger with 5.5 inch barrel or shorter in .45 Colt . Yeah, I know not a bunch of those hanging around on this forum. Other is a Walther PP or a PPK/s in 7.65 Browning.

OK, gonna try this again with a twist.
I will sell this Chinese factory 26 manufactured in 1967 in any configuration a new owner might want.
It can go as a completely stock SKS ( with the exception of the Kivari trigger work which cannot be reversed ). I will keep all the 922r compliant parts and the extra hand guard. Or I will sell it in any configuration or any combination of parts that a buyer wants.
Put the gun / parts together as you desire and make me an offer in this thread. Prices of all the 922r compliant parts are easily researched. ( Murry's trigger and hammer, gas piston, stock and hand guard etc ) Only thing that cannot be left out is the trigger work which makes not only a phenomenal trigger but a safer trigger with positive sear engagement as well. ( cost of trigger work = $59.95 plus $5.00 shipping one way only )

Original sale of the rifle was with a 30 round detachable Magazine. The detachable magazine was shipped to someone outside of NYS where it is legal and still resides there. I had to then locate an original fixed magazine for rifle.
The stock fixed magazine that I located is what comes with the rifle.

I do not have a clue what the law in NYS says about selling to a C&R FFL holder. I do know that the rifle is C&R eligible in stock form.
The rifle at present has a Murry's USA made trigger and hammer installed in the FCG. Would this effect the C&R status? I don't have a clue!
If someone can explain to me why it is legal for me to personally sell this rifle to a C&R FFL holder legally, and I can confirm that the information is correct, I certainly would be willing to do so. However, I will in no way place my neck on the legal chopping block just to save someone an FFL fee.

I will also sell the rifle in stock form for $410.00. I will keep all the 922r parts ( Murrys trigger and hammer, USA made gas piston and the Kicklite stock )
However, buyer will need to be responsible for removing the Murry's trigger and hammer from the FCG and installing the original parts after the sale and returning the USA made trigger and hammer to me. Seems like a straight forward procedure, however I am not going to the taking the time to do the swap. I have some other much more important things going on in my life presently. Buyer would thus receive a Para length factory 26 SKS with Kivari $59.95 trigger work. Trigger by the way is unbelievably nice as well as being safer than stock with positive sear engagement

Was at my FFL's today doing the pistol paperwork. I asked him about selling a C&R eligible long gun Face to Face with a C&R FFL holder.
He said C&R FFL had to record the sale just as he does in their federal book and as long as I am supplied a bill of sale with the proper information there should be no problem. All makes sense to me.
Looks like no one has interest in the 922r components and the pistol grip stock. If someone is interested in the completely stock rifle I will try to find the time to replace the Murry's trigger and hammer with the originals. I don't believe it will effect the Kivari trigger work as his work only involves the sear.

Mix and match and add a price. I might even deliver depending on where I have to go.
Can't go as far as I was originally willing though as I sold my motorcycle on Friday and delivered to Harrisburg, PA.
So, no real cheap transportation remaining.
