Just ordered one of these hammer kits for my L frame revolver. From the reviews on other forums by guys that got early released hammer kits they love them. The price will go up after this initial 100 production order. The hammer was designed by Warren Moore of Protocall Design .

They make some bold claims. They say that it basically does the opposite of stacking – that the pull gets lighter as you pull through. I wouldn't say that I don't believe them, but I will say that there's no free lunch in physics. I wouldn't pay $240, sight unseen, to find that my revolver now fails to touch off one-in-however many rounds due to light primer strikes.

In any case, post an update when you get it installed and let us know if it works like a charm and really is a sweet trigger.

Couple of years ago my so bought a Ruger police trade in that was formerly used by the Canadian RCMP. Bobbed factory hammer. Nice little shooter. (Not a picture of his above but you get the idea.) From what I've read there were 3" and 4" versions.

Personally I like bobbed hammer revolvers, can even slip a 4" in my pants pocket and not worry about snagging. In the past it was not uncommon for police depts to issue DAO revolvers. Out of the six S&W revolvers I own...only one has a spurred hammer.

The 625-8 JM revolver on the left was my competition gun. It was one of the sweetest shooting revolvers I owned at the time. Professionally done internals, gold bead front sight and a reversed target crown . Unfortunately I traded it off for another revolver that I had been wanting for a long time.

I've been using the N frame hammer kit in my 929 for a year now shooting steel challenge without issue.
I've been tuning S&W revolvers for decades and this is the best drop in DAO kit I've used to date.
They now have kits available for other style S&W revolvers too.
