Slide Milling for Optic

My aging eyes are telling me that I need to start using a red dot.
I don't want to buy a whole new gun or slide.
Can anyone recommend a company to mill an existing slide to access red dot?

wish i could help .. bump

i cant see either .. with most pistol iron sites ..

i just point and shoot both eyes open ..

is just how i do it since i was a kid ..

even with a rifle and scope .. both eyes open most of the time ..

my friend or his wife gets a new pistol .. let me shoot it . 20 yrds im hitting the steel plate after a few shots

now im not shooting for a score to win .. just able to hit a 6 inch diameter target

Lets talk Red Dots on handguns

me personally i just cant get past Trijicon, yes there are a few others i would recommend with a caveat. and yes there are a lot of improvements coming out. (hell the trijicon RMR isnt even designed to be used on a pistol) here is one i have been semi hesitant to look at for myself but also...

Depends on which gun you want milled. Some shops only deal with certain brands. I've had 2 CZ's done by Jagerwerks and a Sig by ATEI. Both do excellent work. Lead time from Jagerwerks was much better than Atei.

I have a precut slide from these guys for my g19 and love it . They have precuts or you can send them your slide .

Glad you had a good experience, but I've read too many horror stories about these guys to take the chance.

Too bad too, $80 for a 507k optic cut on a 43x and free Cerakote (standard colors) sounds like a great deal. Cheapest I've seen, but you get what you pay for. IMO paying more than that for a 43x doesn't make sense, might as well just get an MOS.

To be fair I've also read they do some good work. Most of the complaints are about incorrect orders, unacceptable turnaround times, bad CS, etc, but not as much about the work itself. It seems to be a crap shoot. The info is out there freely available. Due diligence and then make a decision. But I'll indulge.

I was very happy doing business with them and they do great work . My slide I ordered arrived in a timely manner and rmr fit perfect. If I were looking for a custom slide I’d buy from them again .
There are many companies that get slammed with orders and shipping isn’t as quick as we would expect. I have 1 holster company I buy from often , I expect a delay every time and it does suck but they make a great product so I deal with it .

I sent mine to Primary Machine. They did a great job and I would recommended them. You can either buy the red dot from them or send them yours and they mill the slide for the dimensions of your actual sight as opposed to a generic dimension.

No problem. I like to think we're all in this together and should help out as we can.

I might take a chance on a custom slide, but would hesitate on sending one in and taking a gun offline for as long as some have had. As long as you know what you might be getting into.

It seems they do really nice work, but are screwed up on the CS side of the house. I've read that Pedro's mom runs that end...and who has the heart to fire mom? Growing pains can be really tough for some companies to work through. I hope they do.

I've seen some good things about Nameless Armament. Two week turnaround times and great prices.
They have optic and cut packages available for select pistols. $340 for a 507k (507c for $360) with the cut (optic forward) looks like a good deal. At that price they only blue the cut pocket. $30 more to cerakote the pocket, $60 for the whole slide. They're in AZ...maybe @spat is familiar with them..? I have 2 pistols myself I may send their way.

So I want my Dan Wesson cut for optics and they are too backed up to do it so who would you guys recommend for a 1911? My biggest thing would be to match the duty finish so it doesn't look like a two tone pistol.
