Small of the back holster

So I was away on a Vacation in Florida, I was lucky enough to go to a Florida Gun Show, Anybody who is out of state ,should seek out Gun shows its incredible why you see. Anyways I was with a friend seeking a small of the back,inside the pants holster. So we say right handed shooter looking for a small of the back holster, and every time the differant vendor's would hand us a left handed holster so your palm would face out. I would explain NO right handed Palm in , and they said thats wrong palm out. I then explained palm out cause you to sweep your self on a draw. They all said the same thing " Ill sell you what ever you want but a Small Of The Back is Palms OUT" Was this just a southern thing .

Its not often I wear a small of the back holster, but mine is a palm in so when you draw you dot sweep your body .
What are your thought besides don't wear SOTB

I just tried it.
Palm out is more natural and Im not sweeping much more than drawing from 3 oclock.
The brief moment you sweep yourself is about as much as the moment you sweep your leg when drawing from 3 oclock.

I've seen it both ways. Palm-out, grabbing the gun from what is essentially a parade rest position is what is most natural to me.

I wouldn't carry small of back but palm out is more natural to draw from.

I wouldn't carry this way either unless you are having trouble concealing any other way. The reasoning is you put yourself in a bad position while trying to draw. Having said that, the left handed holster is correct for a right hander shoot for small of the back carry.

If you draw/shoot right handed, your holster is always right handed. Carry on the hip, cross draw or small of the back, it stays the same.

I assumed he's is carrying IWB, if so need he needs a left hand IWB holster, OWB he needs a left-handed OWB holster so he can grab it with right hand, no?

IWB SOB is most natural for me with palm out.

FYI, I'd never carry SOB.

The position of the gun doesn't change. The grip always faces the same direction. Grip always faces to the left as it positions on the belt line(right handed shooter.)

Palm-In Draw
Pros

• Faster draw for most people (hand goes directly to the grip of the firearm)
• Muzzle is less likely to sweep the lower body
  
• More options

Cons

• Torques shoulder and wrist
• Requires flexibility

Palm-Out Draw
Pros

• Does not “torque” the shoulder or wrist. May be easier for most people
• More natural movement

Cons

• Draw may be slower-Manipulating fingers between back and/or holster
• Muzzle tends to sweep the lower body during presentation
  
• Fewer options

It is palm facing away from back for an inside the waistband small of back holster and palm facing in for an outside the waistband as I was always trained. This way the four fingers that wrap around the grips do not hit the belt attachment of the holster.

Now if we are talking a band type rig with integral holster(s), then palm facing in as only the thumb has to work its way between the body and the rig as opposed to four fingers trying to get in there and around the grips. Here is definitive proof of the last type mentioned:

WOW I have to say I am shocked, I can't believe that folks feel its ok to wear it Palm out. In my thought process I always thought palm out would cause you to muzzle yourself. Its great to see others perspectives.
