My understanding is S&W has garbage service. I had an interaction with them years ago, and they were very unfriendly.

S&W Mod 41 feed and ejection issues.
i was actually looking for some vids on the mod 41 issues .
maybe that can help
whats it doing .. fail to feed .. stove pipes ( my friends race gun does that if you limp wrist it ) .. fail to eject

S&W fixed a pistol for me a while back that wasn't a warranty type issue. It took a couple of weeks, but they did good work and didn't charge me.
For performance tuning and not repair, I'd look elsewhere. These guys have an excellent reputation.

I saw them and was thinking of trying one of their drop in bullseye optics barrels down the road.

I only had to use them once. 25+ years ago. Sent my 686 in for a timing issue. They fixed it and also performed a recall modification. I've never had to use them since.

I had the same issue with my Browning Buckmark with SV ammo ran a bunch of Auto-Match also though it and then went back and tried the SV work like a charm, guess it just needed a little braking in..

I was thinking the same thing, just a little more energy.
whats annoying is the cost of the gun built amd sold to shoot standard velocity!!

Well that sucks. I was going to suggest changing out the recoil spring if it was a used gun. S&W ‘s quality control has certainly gone down hill from yesteryears .

My FFL asked me if it was a used gun.
FILTHY, metal shavings, wear marks.
I wouldnt have purchased the gun in that state if i saw it in person. The down side of the internet. I looked for it locally, but Davis only had a 7” with an insane price tag on it.

Believe it or not you probably would have been better off and happier if you had purchased a nice condition older one , if you could have found one in a decent price range.
I did look for a used one, but i wont buy an expensive used gun from an unknown source. I know too many people who have gotten screwed becsuse of kitchen table gunsmiths.

from that i would ask .. are you SURE it was a brand new gun you bought .. or did seller play switch a roo ..
I hate to be the one to ask this, but did you take this pistol apart and clean and lube it before shooting it?
Oh Yea!
Cleaned it very well, went to the range shot about 50 rounds and cleaned it again.
First time it was relatively dry, after the second cleaning i ran it wet. No change.
Came home thoroughly cleaned it again.
second range trip it took the automatch which ran well but the CCI SV and others still had issues. Got home, cleaned it and ran the bolt by hand a bunch. Feels real smooth.
Going saturday afternoon to test it again, i would rather not send it away if i can avoid that.
General Malaise

So I bought a new 686 in SS. I took it to the range and the sights were off to the left. I moved them right but they were so far off, I couldn’t get it right enough. To say I was pissed would be an understatement. I wound up seeing videos on Youtube about poor barrel alignment and when I checked the fit of mine, realized that it was slightly off. I called S&W and spoke to someone that gave me an R/A number and an email with a return label. I securely packed up my 686 and sent it in. It took about 6 weeks and 2 follow up calls to get it back. Now here is the poor customer service part: They just sent it back to me. No explanation, no emails and someone needed to be home as it was obviously signature required. Very strange for shipping a firearm. When I took the gun to the range, it was perfect. No complaints there. This was 4 months ago.

Sounds like it just needs to break in.
I think you'll be very happy with it after you get a few hundred more rounds through it.
