MARIST POLL: 71% OF AMERICANS SUPPORT STRICTER GUN LAWS

According to a new Marist poll, 71 percent of Americans support stricter gun laws in the aftermath of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. That number is up 7 percent since last October.

Additionally, 58 percent of gun owners said they think gun laws should be stricter.

Since last week's shooting, survivors have become champions of gun reform. Of those polled by Marist, 74 percent said students will have an impact on reforming these issues.

The survey included 1,026 adults 18 years of age and older and was conducted February 20-21.

It's impossible to have stricter gun laws. I'm going that far and saying it. From a technological perspective, it's not possible to ban someone from creating milled receivers with machines that aren't astronomical in cost -- and have perfectly legitimate other purposes.

Look at what happened when they tried to shut down Napster for music? Does anyone remember? I do. Hundreds of other illicit services simply popped up. There will always be a dark web consistent of private logical networks where plans for such things exist. And even if they shut one down, another will simply pop up. Criminals who are technologically savvy are not going to be deterred by the the laws, especially when the milling process is more accessible than ever.

The cheaper and cheaper the every day tools become that are used to create firearms and receivers, the more and more the left's position on this issue will become absurd.

You are 100% correct. My dad was even saying something has to be done. I said what? He said I do t know just something. We can’t keep going like this. That’s where we’re at and it’s scary.
