So i already broke my Walther...it sucks.

In taking it down, I broke the recoil assembly. Nice. Went to 2 different gunsmiths today ( bad idea, everyone trying to by semi auto rifles made it a nightmare). Noone had one. Fucking plastic spring keeper. Walther has a steel one! HURRAY!

$129 bucks. Ok! Will avoid breakage in the future!

Stick it up your ass dick weed. Out of stock.

Order the standard one. Not a great start to a long weekend, ya know, when you planned to go shooting.....

Sure ya did. Emphasis on did. Dunno how long until the replacement shows up.

Pissed, mostly at myself.

Honestly thought about that. I know it's under warranty, but for the price and potential hassle I ordered it. If it happens again, I will go the warranty route, but insist on thier metal one.

I probably should. The thing that gets me is that it's a plastic retaining rod. I may understand it for weight reduction, but a critical part like that should just be steel regardless.

So I contacted Walther. They will warranty the part. Got the form, will be sending the broken recoil spring back. That's the good.

As to thier customer service, it's mediocre at best so far. They haven't been able to update me as to where my current order is and when it will ship. That's concerning all around, let alone the additional warranty claim.

Holiday weekend, we're backed up.
Unable to lookup order on 2 separate attempts
Order still not shipped.

Additionally, thier steel recoil spring replacement is a 6-8 week lead time.

As far as customer service goes, this is getting to be the norm. Mediocre at best. I bought myself a new Beretta 92X Compact for my birthday. For a couple of weeks I tried to figure out the mounting plates by myself because I couldn't get CS to answer the phone. On hold for long periods of time. The I tried to order the free plate but the system said I had an invalid code, that they had emailed to me. Back to the phones. When I finally got through the female on the line didn't have a clue about the plate promotion OR about how to process a phone order for an additional magazine. Mag showed up 10 days later but no plate. Got the free plate a.few.days after. . . a week later I received a second identical plate . . . this is for a $800 gun. Doesn't give me the warm fuzzies . . .

I called Sig this week and I got the whole were experiencing extended wait times so I put the phone on speaker while working and as soon as that was done I got a person. I was surprised. He listened to my concerns and said he thinks it’s normal, but he’d be happy to set up a return for them to look. I asked him one pointed question on if the striker/firing pin has a return spring and he said no. I read they did, but they had changed the design so I said no need to send them back and thanked him. He said call back if there are anymore problems. I was pleasantly surprised.

So the spring was recieved yesterday, replaced the bad one this AM. Back in business. Onto the warranty claim. Will mail this week and see how long that takes.
