So I pulled out the xmas lights for Grandma today...

A break open single shot .410 stamped PIC Decateur Georgia / Japan
A Glenfield Model 60 (Marlin?) 22LR
A Marlin Model 25 22LR
A Mossberg "New Haven" 453T 22LR
A very cool bayonet US 1914 stamped "SR" (Remington?)
A case of about 100 boxes "X Pert" 22LR before they were Winchester (boxes marked 84 cents, lol)
About 3 50 mm ammo cans filled up with loose 22LRs

Rifles and shotgun definitely need some TLC but all of the bores seem bright and clean as if they were hardly ever used.

Ammo is clean and seems usable.

Bayonet looks like it was put on a grinder to sharpen (and is very sharp).

Any idea what this might be worth? Grandma has no interest in keeping or giving to the Grandkids ...

Yeah, I know there really isn't any value there. I have one of his lever guns, the other SIL has another and his son has the pistols. These are like the orphans in the Land of Misfit toys. I really don't have any interest in them. The bayonet is cool and can always use more ammo... maybe donate the ammo to the BSA.

So this is getting interesting apparently ammo was made between 1962 and 1971 (at least the two boxes I checked so far) and may have some collectibility value. Saw similar boxes posted on gun broker with ask price as much as $22 per box of 50 (I know ask price and what they might sell for are two different things). There are about 100 boxes of these. Found this pdf which is pretty cool.

The two boxes I checked have product codes xp22lr and sx22lr. Cool info in pdf regarding box characteristics, headstamps, etc if anyone is interested in this vintage stuff.

1 box of C-I-L Super-Clean 22 short - apparently made by Canadian Industries Limited between 1961 and 1962. Noteworthy last box made by CIL before consumer warning. Info here:

I'm glad they are staying in the family.
Unfortunately the Glenfields do not have a very good resale value, even though they are damn good rifles. They are also great "beginner" rifles.
Yes, my first gun ever was a Glenfield mod. 25. I use it now to shoot Sporterifle with a BSA 22-sweet scope and a custom thumbhole stock. Got a 100 out of 100 on one target a couple years ago and a 99 last week. Regularly in the upper 90s.
