If you do it online you're making it easier for them, most people are doing it but they are mailing in paper copies.

Different strokes for different folks. I prefer to see this rather than sending in paper, not getting a confirmation that it was received, and not really making a difference. A return receipt kind of means nothing. You could have sent an empty envelope.

Right but what if they say they never got it or the envelope was empty or the form was incomplete? They lost it or they entered a number wrong? I don't want to make it easy for them to cancel my permit. This way, I have my proof that I did it from their own website with confirmation number.
Maybe I'm paranoid but I don't trust state employees.

you could always do the real one online and send in a paper with your nail guns, airsoft, and other BS for the hell of it.

Oh I understand completely, but I understand why people would send it in on paper and request a read receipt. It's not really applicable to me being stuck Behind Enemy Lines in Westchester as we already had a five-year renewal requirement.
I was tempted to change my permit to Greene County, which is a part-time residence for me, but that was before the Safe Act and the requirement for the five-year renewal. I would have loved the permit for life, not to mention that Greene County would likely have issued an unrestricted carry.

I understand why people would want to do paper too. I get it although personally, I don't think it's going to make a difference but that's just me. To each their own. I'm not knocking them. My paranoia stems from dealing with State Workers. I don't think the 48 year old lady tasked with entering the information is a malicious gun grabber. I just know that she doesn't give a fuck and makes many mistakes. I deal with people like her that work for the state everyday.
Why not still go Greene? Unrestricted is unrestricted. It also sets up an early warning alert.
