Are we doing this or what? I read a story today that the deadline is coming up. I'm filling out the forms now but it seems ridiculous.
If you do it online you're making it easier for them, most people are doing it but they are mailing in paper copies.
The return receipt is just one extra step in an attempt to make their life slightly more difficultDifferent strokes for different folks. I prefer to see this rather than sending in paper, not getting a confirmation that it was received, and not really making a difference. A return receipt kind of means nothing. You could have sent an empty envelope.

Right but what if they say they never got it or the envelope was empty or the form was incomplete? They lost it or they entered a number wrong? I don't want to make it easy for them to cancel my permit. This way, I have my proof that I did it from their own website with confirmation number. The return receipt is just one extra step in an attempt to make their life slightly more difficult
Oh I understand completely, but I understand why people would send it in on paper and request a read receipt. It's not really applicable to me being stuck Behind Enemy Lines in Westchester as we already had a five-year renewal requirement.Right but what if they say they never got it or the envelope was empty or the form was incomplete? Maybe I'm paranoid but I don't trust state employees.
I understand why people would want to do paper too. I get it although personally, I don't think it's going to make a difference but that's just me. To each their own. I'm not knocking them. My paranoia stems from dealing with State Workers. I don't think the 48 year old lady tasked with entering the information is a malicious gun grabber. I just know that she doesn't give a fuck and makes many mistakes. I deal with people like her that work for the state everyday.Oh I understand completely, but I understand why people would send it in on paper and request a read receipt. I was tempted to change my permit to Greene County, which is a part-time residence for me, but that was before the Safe Act and the requirement for the five-year renewal. I would have loved the permit for life, not to mention that Greene County would likely have issued an unrestricted carry.
All mailing them in will donis give the troopers OT. They like it.I understand why people would want to do paper too. Why not still go Greene? Unrestricted is unrestricted. It also sets up an early warning alert.
Dad. Hey son. The police were here looking for you. I told them that you were at work. Do you know why?
You. No dad. I don't know why. I'LL talk to you later. I'm kind of busy now. I'm going straight to a storage unit in PA right now. I'll call you when I get there.
Next time I'll send my wife. The return receipt is just one extra step in an attempt to make their life slightly more difficult

Its not over, even though it looks kind of bleak. It was depressing filling out the form. It reminded me why I got out of guns. We lost. They won. It's over.

The Army did not give up at the Bulge, the Marines did not give up at Chosin Reservoir. Keep in mind, a minority started the movement that threw the tyrant pricks out in 1776. Push back every day in any way you can. Defeat is only in your mind. Its not over, even though it looks kind of bleak.
