Ran the piss out of maverick yesterday. The only thing it did was need a little more force to eject crappy Winchester bulk target loads. 75 low brass, over 25 buckshot, some slugs. I practiced moving, shooting, and reloading. Gun itself ran flawlessly.
Buckshot patterns were as follows:
1. Federal-by far. No contest. Fist sized pattern at 25 yards.
2. Fiocchi new production with blue hull- salad pate sized at 25 yards.
3. Estate dinner place sized at 25 yards, still hold all pellets on a chest.
4. Fiocchi old production with clear hull-wider, not sure all pellets held.
5. Remington- only about 4-5 pellets even on target.
Federal always has the best wad technology with good buffering.
Also some of this ammo was over 10 years old, stored in seal plastic ammo crate. All functioned perfectly.
