Gotta love the Newburgh schools. I'm surprised nobody made an issue over this. They've had these signs up at the schools for over a year.

Its so poorly worded it states OD law enforcement and citizens may not posses in the school yet on paragraph 3 it states just OD law enforcement on personal business may not on school grounds without permission. So that suggests citizens with ccw may on school grounds.

Imbeciles. If there was an incident in the school, and the first responder was an until-moments-ago off duty officer, what then? Should he stand meekly outside waiting for some Lopez character who's probably pissing himself in a corner, or leave his weapon in his vehicle? Off duty police officer is still a police officer, and in an emergency will respond, without saying "Nope, I'm off duty. Call the other guys".

Why would an off duty police officer become a threat? And why would a law abiding citizen become a criminal or threat too? This is so retarded. If it really makes them somehow feel safer or better to print out a piece of paper with more rules that can easily be ignored, then they shouldn't be left alone with children because they're mentally ill.

In the event that there is a school shooting, on or off duty police must only be allowed to either engage an attacker in a friendly matter firstly, and or ask the principal permission first upon entering the school grounds if they may be equipped with such firearms. Permission may only be granted no later than 7:30am Monday mornings prior to any perceived attack. Thank you for your understanding.
