I have a pair of the top focals that I use as my shooting glasses. I find they work better than my prescription glasses for pistol shooting as I can tilt my head down and get a clear sight picture vs. my progressive lenses where I have to tilt my head back. It's a more natural and aggressive stance for me. As the magnification is limited to a small area I find at times it can be difficult to quickly acquire a clear sight picture when using a long gun. Cheek weld and head tilt moves the focus spot to the side. It's no problem when shooting from a bench but can be a prob in 3 Gun.
I bought a pair a little over a year ago and don't use them. My eyes are borderline but I'm still able to see my sights well enough. I found them hard to get used to but I guess with enough practice i could make them work. I'm saving them because a few years down the road I may need them.
