Stainless Steel Knife Firecraft Myths. Field Tested!
I was always led to believe stainless steel and fire rods were incompatible. I like Mora knives in my car bag, light weight gear, day hiking kit. A beater knife in my tool box. I've never had a failure. My take away is that SS will work but you have to roughen up an edge on the back of the blade to work with the fire rod. They're not my only knife but I can pre-position an affordable one when I don't carry my HD bush-craft knife.
