Senate bill S1358 would require all pistols be equipped with a permanent "child proofing device."

"Design features could include the capacity to adjust the trigger resistance of the gun to at least a ten-pound pull, the capacity to alter the firing mechanism so that an average five-year-old child's hand would be too small to operate the gun, or the capacity to require a series of multiple motions in order to fire the gun," the bill states.

A violation of the law would be a class A misdemeanor for a first offense

My wife has a difficult time firing my S&W Model 29 Classic. And she definitely has a hard time keeping it on target with the hard trigger pull. Forget about follow ups. The pull weight on it is roughly 9 pounds. That gun, as reliable and superbly design as it is, would be basically useless for most women. 10 # pull is counter to gun safety. In typical Albany fashion, in an effort to make things better, they find a way to screw them up. Like the "stubby" AR grips. Take a ridiculously accurate platform and make them difficult to safely use all in the name of "safety". Albany is run by morons.

I'm not a violent guy and would never cause harm to anyone unless protecting my life, but I'm tired of the constant worry about new laws.
I would not knowingly break any laws, but ignorance is bliss I hear.
